6 step d.i.y wire bow rings
Happy 2015! I am so excited to post this as my first entry into the new year. The other day I had a ton of left over wire and just as I was about to toss it out, I found an easy way to make “Bow Wire Rings”. The steps I found via Google were tricky and not very straightforward–they helped but I messed up a few times! I wanted to share an easier tutorial on the blog today so you can make your very own “Bow Wire Ring”. I hope you enjoy this D.I.Y project! It requires only 2 materials (pliers and wire) and is inexpensive because the wire can make so many rings!
The TWO materials you need are:
2. Artistic Wire 20 Gauge ($7.00)
Step 1.
Cut off about 6 inches of wire to WRAP around one of your fingers for sizing.
Step 2.
Fold the wire ends once so you are left with a TOP and a BOTTOM wire strand.
Another look at Step 2. I moved the TOP and BOTTOM pieces to the front of my finger to show it better.
Step 3.
Remove the wire from your finger.
With the TOP wire strand, use your PLIERS to carefully make a LOOP that points DOWN over the second strand like shown above.
Step 4.
Repeat the SAME looping
Using the BOTTOM strand to loop OVER the TOP strand like shown above.
Here is what you should have now. Two loops crossing the wire strands.
Step 5.
To make sure the ring will stay in place,
carefully wrap one of the strands around the CENTER of the bow to make a ‘knot’.
Step 6.
Almost done! Now cut off the extra wire to make your ring more even.
And you are finished! A wire ring in the shape of a bow!
