Oh, how I crave a new piece of jewelry when the start of summer hits. Necklaces and earrings are easily my two favorite accessories. I typically don’t wear watches or bracelets, but I don’t dare walk outside without a pair of dangling earrings dropping from my ear lobes.

A few years back when huge statement necklaces were on trend I owned quite a large collection. These days I am switching things up and consistently wearing gold pendants or monogrammed initial necklaces instead of bulky and oversized bedazzled pieces.

I believe the days of wearing large monogrammed necklaces are finally done.

As much as I tried to dabble with the preppy world of monogramming everything from my school tote bags to my car keychains, I think the trend has died down. The asymmetrical “A” lays perfectly on my neck and is quite a sizable pendant to wear during the summer months. Instead of stacking multiple layers of necklaces, I choose one or two pieces to wear during the hot months because, well, SWEAT HAPPENS!
