Celebrating My 24th Birthday With a Cake from Wandering Whisk Bakeshop
My 24th birthday was on February 7th, and I decided to celebrate for the entire month, just because! From dinner dates to seeing a few new movies, it’s been one heck of an exciting month. I even attempted (and pretty much failed!) at playing a round of Topgolf the other night. The next Tiger Woods I am not! It was still a lot of fun and the food served at the Topgolf restaurant is delish. I snacked on pulled pork sliders and tater tots while nearly missing every shot I took, ha ha.
As for other events to celebrate my birthday, I had a thought cross my mind a few days prior to my actual birthday. In my head, I knew I wanted to spend time with close friends and family, but I also had an idea to throw a cute and girly birthday party.
Not only did I want to have a get together with pals, but I wanted to document it with one of my favorite Tampa photographers to work with, Sara! She is such a wonderful person and as soon as I pitched the idea of capturing my birthday party, she was as excited as I was to make it happen.
The planning quickly commenced and I started brainstorming ideas for a gorgeous cake from my friend Jen who owns her own bake shop, Wandering Whisk. Not every day do I splurge on a fancy four-layer masterpiece crafted by a skilled baker, but it was my birthday after all. Why not go big?!
I love super girly designs and gave her creative freedom to add some elegant fresh flowers and a watercolor mix of bright pink and orange splattered across the cake complete with a drip effect.
As for the flavor of the cake, I chose a decadent chai latte with creamy buttercream frosting to top it all off! I couldn’t wait to pick up the cake before heading to Sara’s revamped garage/studio to shoot some adorable photos with my friends in tow. And with some rose to pop!
Time to finally cut into this cake! |
