Life Update and What I’m Currently Loving This Fall

Chatting about life and some recent exciting updates in this blog post as well as sharing a couple of fall favorites I am loving right now for September!

September is flying by right before my eyes! Before we know it, October will be here and I will need to stock up on some candy and sit down to watch Hocus Pocus on repeat. Fall is not only a fun time to break out my over-the-knee boots, but it’s also even more special this year because I am going HAM decoring my boyfriend’s new home!

I am so happy to find cute Target pumpkins and scented candles that we can light up at night to make the whole house smell festive. I’ve already taken quite a few trips to Target to scour their dollar spot section for the best deals. I can’t wait to share some decor updates on the blog. We agreed on a console table from HomeGoods over the weekend and that is where a majority of my decorating as started for fall. My Pinterest page has a home decor board that I stay up late at night adding more and more inspiration images to. The entryway has a lot of open space so I want to make sure it feels inviting and looks put together for friends and family to see.

Meet Simba!

Brian and I also adopted a cat together! He is a fluffy one-year-old orange tabby and main coon mix named Simba. At first, the two of us were dead set on adopting a tiny kitty to grow up with us and Chance, his dog. However, upon visiting 3 or 4 pet stores, we stopped at Petco and locked eyes with the sweetest orange striped cat we’ve ever seen! Simba was waiting for us to take him home. Simba’s foster mom was also the kindest woman and gave us a carrying case for Simba as well as plenty of his favorite food!

My sister has a gorgeous cat named Rio, who I still spend plenty of time hanging out with, but it’s also exciting to feel responsible for a brand new cat in the family. Of course, it took Simba and Chance a couple of days to acclimate to each other. Chance had only ever been the center of attention and it took him a long time to adjust to the new animal in the house. Now the two are friends and they even snuggle up close to each other at night. I am so glad we decided to forget our original idea to adopt a kitty because Simba is the sweetest and coolest cat on the block! He cuddles up right next to you and his purrs are SO LOUD.

I’ve worn this leopard set of PJs for an embarrassingly long amount of time…to the point where I still have yet to stick them in my washing machine! Oops! Apparently, I am not the only one who sleeps in this matching set because they keep selling out on Target.com

They are extremely soft and I even lounge around in them for as long as possible on Saturday mornings until I really need to change into regular people clothing. I picked them up in a size medium, which according to Target.com, are in stock right now! I also treated my sister to pair in gray ($21.99) as she was looking at them for a long time!

Vital Proteins Matcha Collagen Powder

Since joining a gym and working on my fitness routine, I am also watching what I eat on a daily basis. I wanted to start incorporating a healthy drink alternative to sugary teas and I recently began making Vital Proteins Matcha lemonades in the morning. The brand boasts this powder as a “coffee alternative” which it totally can be, but for me, I still enjoy my Starbucks in the mornings, too. The green earthy taste is not for everyone, but I am such an avid matcha lover that I knew this powder would be a win in my book.  The health benefits of matcha are enough of a reason to try it out. These are just a few life updates and things I am loving right now for fall. I am looking forward to spending the next month in Austin, Texas where my best friend lives for the weekend as well as continuing to find more fall clothes to style on the blog and feature on my Instagram feed.
