Hotel Review: Wyndham Orlando Resort International Drive
Over the weekend, my boyfriend and I along with his best friend and girlfriend visited Epcot for the Fall International Food and Wine Festival. We all arrived in Orlando on Friday night eager to unwind and settle into our hotel room in preparation for a long Saturday filled with drinks and cuisine. I coordinated the hotel room for us all at the Wyndham Orlando Resort on International Drive. In today’s post, I will be reviewing my experience at the resort.
Although I received the stay on a complimentary basis, all opinions found within this blog post are my own. Thanks so much to the Wyndham Orlando Resort for the weekend accommodations! Keep reading for a special discount, too.
Resort Location
Our two night stay included double queen-sized beds as well as a lagoon view on the second floor. The property was conveniently located on International Drive which was easy to navigate to using our GPS. There is a Wawa close to the resort which came in handy for any last-minute drinks and late-night snacks! Staying at a resort on International Drive provides guests with close access to the theme parks, too. You are approximately 20 minutes away from every theme park! Our trip over to Epcot in the morning took just about 15 minutes. The resort on International Drive has plenty of great dining options that are a quick 5-minute drive or 10-minute walk to. The four of us also ate out at BJ’s Restaurant & Brewhouse after our day at Epcot was over.
The Rooms
It turns out that the weekend I booked our stay at the Wyndham Orlando Resort on I-Drive was quite a busy one! I chatted with one of the managers and he explained to me how this weekend booked up fast for them as a few business conventions were going on and it was the last weekend before Halloween. I had a small issue when checking into the resort that was quickly resolved by the kind manager. I accidentally booked our two-night stay from Saturday until Monday (yikes!) when in actuality I needed the room from Friday night until Sunday. This was my mistake, however, the manager took it upon himself to move a few things around and find a place for us to crash for the night! I was so thankful for his effort to ensure that the four of us had a stay on Friday night as the rest of Orlando would also likely have no rooms left.
Once we parked my car and unloaded our bags up to the room, I took a peek at every corner of our room to report some feedback for this blog post. Our room was called the “Premium Guestroom” that features 2 deluxe queen beds, a mini-fridge, a bathroom with a lighted vanity mirror, desk area, and flatscreen HDTV. Walking into the bathroom I saw an assortment of complementary bath products for the hair and body which is always nice to find! The linens were folded nicely and there was plenty of counter space to keep my makeup and skincare products organized for the entire weekend ahead. The lighted vanity mirror was a great feature to help me get ready in the morning and ensure that my makeup looked its best for the day. Our in-room mini fridge was also VERY convenient so I could store my iced coffee inside for the mornings. Some hotel rooms do not include mini-fridges and spotting one in our room was an added bonus.
