My First Experience at Drybar
Sharing my first experience at Drybar today! This post will discuss my entire experience receiving a complimentary blowout and tour of the newest Drybar location in Carrollwood.
Last month I was invited to check out the new Drybar location in Carrollwood, Florida. Traveling to Carrollwood was a first for me! Of course, I’d driven to other parts of Tampa before, but this was my first time heading north to the Carrollwood area. Little did I know that I was in for such a treat at Drybar from the manager, Ashley, and the rest of the staff as soon as I walked in.
My First Impressions of Drybar?
As soon as I walked into Drybar the friendly staff greeted me and checked me in. The girls working at the reception area of Drybar asked me if I wanted something to drink to which I asked for water. The atmosphere of Drybar felt energetic and enthusiastic. Once I arrived, I noted a few other ladies sitting in chairs in the process of getting their own blowouts. Each lady looked very happy, two of them sipping on mimosas!

Looking around I also noted the clean and modern look of Drybar. Fresh signature yellow flowers lined the countertops and product displays were full of Drybar goodies. Since this was my first experience at Drybar I wanted to take it all in and see what the fuss is about!
After sipping on my cucumber-infused water, the manager Ashley greeted me and took me back to the shampoo station. She proceeded to wash my hair using the Drybar On the Rocks Clarifying Charcoal Shampoo and Drybar Liquid Glass Smoothing Shampoo and Conditioner. Ashley and I chatted throughout the entire hair washing process and she told me about herself and her journey to managing this new Drybar location. It was hilarious to me when she told me a story about her dad thinking she worked at a bar because of the name “Drybar” and she had to explain to him what the concept of Drybar really is!

Choosing a Blowout Style
Once my hair washing step ended, Ashley guided me to her station near the front. She handed me a book full of blowout options called the “Lookbook” for me to choose from. Flipping back and forth through the catalog of blowouts took me some time! Ashley asked me what kind of style I wanted to achieve with my blowout and I explained to her how I wanted tons of volume. She and I narrowed down my options and eventually settled on “The Cosmo-Tai” blowout. A Cosmo-Tai includes a little bit of beach wave mixed with loose curls. Now was time for the fun part, sitting back and relaxing while my hair transformed right in front of my eyes!

The Drybar Products
To achieve the perfect Cosmo-Tai beach wave and loose curls blowout, Ashley showed me all of the Drybar products she planned on using on my hair. She began the process by spraying my wet hair with Drybar Prep Rally Prep & Prime Detangler. My hair has a naturally fine texture which explains why she needed to use the Prep & Prime Detangler. After the detangler, Ashley added a handful of Southern Belle Volume-Boosting Mousse throughout my hair. Once heat dried my hair, Ashley then added in some huge rollers to create the ideal amount of volume for my blowout.
While my blowout started to take shape I relaxed in my chair while watching The Devil Wears Prada on TV. In no time my blowout adventure at Drybar slowly finished up and as soon as the rollers came out of my hair Ashley sprayed a coat of Triple Sec 3-in-1 Finishing Spray that smelled AMAZING! Seriously, I wish I could smell like Triple Sec finishing spray all over. Checking myself out in the mirror I could definitely see the Cosmo-Tai come to life on my red locks.
So, How Was My First Experience at Drybar?
From the initial warm welcome down to exiting the building with a fresh new ‘do, my overall experience at Drybar exceeded my expectations. I left with a huge smile on my face and feeling more confident than I did when I first arrived. For special occasions or just for the heck of it I recommend checking out your local Drybar for a smooth and sleek blowout! Feel extra beautiful walking out the door with a fresh blowout a la Drybar like I did at my first appointment.
