ARC Blue Light Teeth Whitening Kit Review
ARC Blue Light Teeth Whitening Review
Hello! Hope you are doing well. Today I am sharing my experience using the ARC Blue Light Teeth Whitening Kit that I purchased at Target for $45.00. Since working from home and brewing up my own coffee drinks, I’ve noticed a yellow tint forming on my teeth. Ugh! As someone who photographs herself for a living, I knew I had to figure out the best approach to whitening my teeth either at home or professionally.
I sat back and wondered if I should invest in professional whitening at a dentist’s office or test the waters with a drugstore alternative. My wallet and my can-do attitude convinced me to stick with the latter. So I headed out to Target and scoured through the oral care section for my best options.
ARC teeth whitening solutions
Even years ago I was a fan of using Crest White Strips on my teeth to treat my yellowing enamel. Since it’s now 2020 I figured more brands would have launched their own upgraded whitening kits to fit with advancements in dental care. Something I noticed a few minutes into my search? The familiar ARC box that I had seen on a few Instagram feeds recently.
My curiosity led me to scan the box to look up reviews on Target’s website. Most of the reviews suggested this whitening kit was worth the $45 and helped me narrow down my decision.
What’s Inside this Whitening Kit?
For $45.00 you receive 14 whitening strips for both top and bottom teeth and 1 ARC blue light device. The price point did make me reconsider if this whitening kit would actually be worth the investment. I looked around at alternative whitening kits with blue light devices and most of them were on par with the $45 price point.
In general, any teeth whitening strips will come with a higher price than regular toothpaste because these strips are developed to adhere to the teeth for results in as little as 2 weeks. Crest 3D White Strips alone without a blue light device are $45. I felt better about investing in this kit because it cost $45 with a blue light device to hopefully provide my teeth with great results after 14 treatments!
My Teeth Whitening Routine with ARC
Now I am going to explain how I use these teeth whitening strips at home. Whenever I am in the mood to whiten my teeth, I typically wait until after dinner to relax on the couch and watch TV while the strips perform their magic. I don’t brush my teeth until after 30 minutes have passed and I take out the strips.
How to Apply the Strips
I tear off one of the ARC strips to reveal and top and bottom strips. It doesn’t matter which one you pick for the top or the bottom teeth as they are identical, clear strips. I apply the bottom strip first as I find that strip to give me more trouble than the top one. As soon as I position the strip over my bottom teeth I gently press it in place with my fingers. I take the next strip and repeat this process to my top teeth making sure to gently press it in to cover as much as my teeth as possible!
The Strips Stay Put
One of the absolute best advancements made by ARC: these whitening strips stay ON your teeth. The strips are secured to your top and bottom teeth for as long as you need them to be.
the best ARC teeth whitening products
I am beyond impressed by the quality of these ARC teeth whitening strips because in the past my previous experiences with at-home treatments involved the strips sliding down my teeth. The ARC whitening strips stay put for the entire 30 minutes that I need them to stay on for. I am already happy with this important aspect of the ARC strips in comparison to the ones I’ve used before.
When to Use the ARC Blue Light Device
Once 25 minutes have passed it’s time to grab the ARC blue light device. To turn on the device simply press on the sides at the same time and you’ll notice the bright blue light glow on. As soon as the light appears you should place it inside your mouth over your teeth. The blue light device feels comfortable and not at all difficult to keep inside my mouth. The five minutes will pass by and the blue light shuts off to alert you that your time is up!
The Next Steps: After ARC Teeth Whitening
Once my 30 minutes have passed and my teeth whitening session ends, I like to brush my teeth. In addition to picking up a new teeth whitening system at Target, I also bought a new shiny new toothbrush and toothpaste. I figured why not treat myself to a complete oral hygiene overhaul!
Toothbrush and Toothpaste
My new toothbrush was recommended to me by my friend Jess who currently uses her own Quip toothbrush. I have a small mouth and every dentist has always told me to find a toothbrush to get the cramped spaces in the back of my mouth which is why I picked up a kids toothbrush from Quip. It’s also pink and $25 which are two pluses.
The Quip toothbrush came with a plastic holder that I stuck to my bathroom mirror to easily hold my toothbrush when it’s not in use, too. My new toothbrush has sensitive sonic electric pulses and a smaller brush head for the best overall experience brushing my teeth.
As for toothpaste, I picked up a tube of Crest 3D White Stain Eraser Whitening Toothpaste. I wanted to purchase a whitening toothpaste with stain remover ingredients to combat my coffee and tea drinking obsession. So far so good with this affordable and effective $2.99 toothpaste!
