Clean Beauty Makeup Routine 2022

New year, new makeup routine! I am excited to break down what I’ve been wearing on my face lately in today’s blog post. Not only do I love sharing affordable fashion, but I also love reviewing beauty brands. Over the years, I’ve purchased items from countless beauty brands. As a blogger, I wrote up reviews on these brands here on the blog.
These days I am using more clean beauty products in my makeup routine. Clean beauty products are great for people with sensitive or acne-prone skin types, too. Some clean beauty brands that I love include Merit, ILIA, Lawless, and Kosas. This blog post will focus on my current makeup routine for Spring 2022. I am including products from Merit and ILIA with a special mention to a powder from PUR.
Merit Brush The Minimalist Perfecting Complexion Stick
For my foundation, I am loving the look I achieve with a creamy complexion stick from Merit. On my skin I use the shade Bone which is the lightest shade they offer. To blend in the formula I also use the Merit Tapered Blending Brush.
Even though this is a clean foundation, do not be fooled because it’s a high-quality product. I feel like some “clean” foundations have a bad reputation for looking cakey and patchy. Thankfully, this Merit Complexion Stick hides all of my imperfections and creates a smooth canvas for me to add definition with blush and bronzer. You can either apply the product directly onto your skin or dab the brush into the tip.
PUR 4-in-1 Pressed Mineral Powder Foundation SPF 15
One of the newest products to my makeup routine is a powder foundation from PUR. My friends at HSN kindly gifted me this new product to try out.The PUR 4-in-1 Pressed Mineral Powder Foundation SPF 15 is a foundation, concealer, powder, and SPF. I could wear this powder foundation on its own, but I do like using it on my T-zone to make my skin look matte.
Merit Brow 1980 Eyebrow Pomade
My eyebrows and I have been on quite the journey together. During the quarantine of 2020, I hardly wore any makeup at all. I even neglected to draw in my eyebrows for months because what was the point. With a lack of makeup also came a lack of grooming my eyebrows.
My nonchalant makeup-free quarantine days left me room to grow out my eyebrows. My eyebrows look sparse unless I fill them in with a gel pomade or pencil. As with most young gals my age, I am enjoying the look of fluffy eyebrows. To achieve this look I recommend looking at investing in the Merit Brow 1980 Eyebrow Pomade. For my eyebrows I use the “Brown” shade to fill them in and fluff them up.
Merit Flush Balm Cream Blush
The first beauty product I ever tried from Merit is their popular flush balm cream blush in the shade “Beverly Hills”. Holy cow I love this blush so much! I am going to purchase a few other shades in the future to add to my makeup stash.
The Merit Flush Balm Cream Blush looks effortless on the cheeks in a natural way. If there’s one beauty product that I suggest for you to try from Merit it’s their cream blushes!

ILIA Limitless Lash Lengthening Mascara
One of my favorite mascaras is the ILIA Limitless Lash Mascara for great lash length and zero clumping. This mascara really impressed me the first time I put it on. It makes my lashes look thicker and fuller without any fallout. Even after a full day of wearing the ILIA Limitless Lash Lengthening Mascara I do not see any mascara end up underneath my eyes either.
ILIA Balmy Gloss Tinted Lip Oil
Lastly, I need to mention what lip product I’ve been wearing for my new makeup routine. ILIA Balmy Gloss Tinted Lip Oil hydrates and plumps up my lips for a nice wash of pink. For Christmas this year, Brian gifted me the ILIA Mini Small Wonders gift set from Sephora so I could sample products from ILIA.
Inside the ILIA Mini Small Wonders gift set from Sephora you receive small versions of ILIA’s best-selling mascara, mascaras, lip oil, and lip balm. The tinted lip oil color inside this gift set is “Only You” a neutral nude. You can see exactly how it looks on me in the first image of this blog post.
