How To Find a Cute and Professional Business Casual Look For Under $100
After a long weekend of singing my favorite country tunes (Thanks, Kenny Chesney!) and treating myself to a well-deserved pedicure and fun trip to Home Goods, I’m back with another blog post to start this Monday off right.
Are you having trouble finding the right way to style your own business casual look? I know it can be difficult to look trendy and still stay clear of accidentally coming off too old-school.
The business casual approach to office wear is no longer stuffy blazers and muted wide-leg pants. Let me show you how to create your own personal style with a few key pieces that are appropriate for your millennial job interview in 2018.
Business casual is tough to nail. With select pieces, you can walk confidently into your next meeting looking trendy and feeling your best! When talking to large groups of people, or attending a conference, it’s important to dress the part. You want to look dressed up and not too casual, which is a hard balance to accomplish.
That’s why I choose LOFT to do most of my business casual shopping at. I’m not sponsored by them to post this at all, I just genuinely love and adore their clothing and accessories! The LOFT offers a variety of options and sizes. From a petite section to a plus size section, LOFT now provides business casual attire for women of all diverse shapes and sizes, which is amazing!
Pops of red really draw attention to you, so if you want to keep your clients and co-workers listening, opt for a vibrant red skirt, like THIS TIE WAIST ONE currently marked down to $30 (!!!) I’m wearing a size 2 for reference. I believe red is a power color and it should be worn by women to help them shine. Even if you think red is too bold for you, select a muted tone to begin with.
If you are ready to explore the red zone, keep the rest of your outfit minimal. This bold red skirt includes a bow wrap detail that I think is classy. There’s nothing like a classic striped top, so I picked up THIS RUFFLE TOP from LOFT, too. It’s under $60 and an item you can wear again and again. I can already picture styling it with a pair of white denim pants or shorts out running errands.
The gorgeous ruffle sleeves are also TOO cute!! If you are in need of picking up a striped top, I suggest this one for sure. As the days begin to warm up, you’ll need a totally lightweight top to feel cool in all day long. I’m wearing a size small for reference!
To keep this look feeling fresh and business casual, wear your favorite wedges. Mine are from DSW and are Steve Madden. A pair of statement wedges is necessary for the summertime when you want to look put together for the season. Mine are also budget-friendly, as they are under $60. Steve Madden makes insanely comfortable shoes so I conquered these stairs at the stunning Don CeSar Hotel with ease.
