What’s In Style for Spring 2023

Hi, friend! Welcome back to another post. I want to mention some of the top trends and styles that I’ve noticed for spring 2023. So far I am really excited for some of the biggest trends including the colors bright pink, oranges, cobalt blue, and green.

There are some styles that I am not quite sure about which include cargo pants and baggy jeans. Just last year I finally got on the straight-leg denim train and now I think wearing baggy jeans would feel difficult for me! Cargo pants also only make me think of the old TV show Kim Possible, especially since I have red hair.

I’ve also taken notes from a recent Glamour article when it comes to creating a list of spring styles for this year. More people are choosing to dress with a maximalist attitude which has definitely shaped the fashion industry. Think: bold colors, unique prints, and daring cut-outs.

Keep reading to discover what’s in style for spring 2023. I am sharing some of the top wearable trends for spring 2023 and giving you styling ideas, too. 1. Sheer Fabrics

For the holidays I ended up ordering a white bodysuit with sheer sleeves. Now for 2023 I have noticed sheer fabrics continuing to emerge as a popular material.

2. Shades of Green

In addition to the color pink, we’ll be noticing varying shades of green showing up for spring 2023. Olive green, bright neon green, and moss green will all be popular shades of green. Recently I picked up a green polka dot mini dress from Target to start incorporating more green into my spring wardrobe.

3. Barbiecore

Did you know that hot pink is having a moment for spring 2023? Now is the time to think about dressing like a Barbie doll with the Barbiecore trend. Think: bubblegum pink, hyper-feminine pink over-sized sweaters, and bright hot pink! See how I recently styled an adorable $35 hot pink cardigan from Target in this blog post.

4. Cut-Outs

A trend that really took off in 2021 continues well into 2023. We are still seeing cut-outs of all shapes and sizes on dresses, tops, and skirts in women’s fashion. At Old Navy, I recently scored a pretty jersey knit dress with a cut-out underneath the bust.

5. Lug-Sole Loafers

Preppy styles are also on the rise for spring/summer 2023. Tailored blazers, tailored pants, plaids, and chunky lug-sole loafers are all great examples of what’s in style for 2023. Back in the fall, I was able to find my ideal lug-sole loafers at Target. I am excited that this shoe style will still be popular this year! 6. Lilac Hues

Pink, green and now lilac! These are three of the top colors you’ll notice for spring/summer 2023. Over the past year I’ve been slowly warming up to wearing more shades of purple. Looks like this color isn’t going away anytime soon! I am going to fully embrace lilac hues in the tops and dresses that I purchase this season. One of the most stunning dresses that I recently got in from Abercrombie is featured below in a lilac and white floral print. The dress fits like a glove and I am obsessed with the print so much for spring.

7. Drop-waist Hemlines

Another 80s trend that we’ll see coming back around for spring 2023? Drop-waist hemlines. Now this trend can feel difficult to wear at first, as I was unsure about styling this Target drop-waist mini dress once I bought it. For accessories I kept the look simple so most of the attention goes to the watercolor print of the dress with gold heels and a pink bag.

8. Sequins

Sequins and metallic materials are typically reserved for the festive holiday season, but we are also spotting this fabric for spring 2023. Metallic tones, silver sparkles, and sequins are also going to be popular for this upcoming season. I like to think that I figured out a cute way to style the sequins trend for spring with my Free People silver sequin mini skirt and Amazon heart sweater.

9. Faux Leather

How do you feel about wearing faux leather? I am happily surprised to see that this trend from 2022 will be sticking around in 2023. For me I really starting embracing the faux leather trend once I found the perfect cream colored pants at Walmart.

Unfortunately, I wore the pants so often that they ended up stretching out to the point of tossing them in the trash a few months ago. Since the faux leather trend will continue this year, I was able to repurchase the style at Abercrombie and Fitch.
