How to Style a Denim Midi Skirt
I’ll be the first to admit it: I thought the long denim midi skirt trend was only reserved for models and a size 0. Long denim midi skirts are definitely one of the trickier bottoms to learn how to style. I challenged myself to style a long denim midi skirt in a few fashionable ways for the fall season.
Long denim midi skirts were trending earlier in the year as a spring trend and now you can easily wear it in the fall time, too. Of course, for me it helps that I live in Florida where we don’t really change seasons that dramatically. A long denim midi skirt will be a nice closet staple for the days of early fall and even into next spring!
Are you ready to learn how to style a long denim skirt? I hope these outfits provide you with plenty of inspiration to tackle this unique fashion trend.
1. Mock Neck Sweater with a Denim Midi Skirt
A look that works for summer into fall includes a soft mock neck sleeveless sweater. The light brown eyelash mock neck sweater that I am wearing in the outfit here is affordable from Old Navy. The texture of this sleeveless mock neck sweater makes it extremely comfortable to wear all day long, too. I’d suggest sizing down for my exact one as I have a small.

2. Long Sleeve Ribbed Sweater and Denim Midi Skirt
In this fall look, I have on a cream fitted long sleeve sweater with an asymmetrical cut at the top. Since the denim midi skirt carries so much of the bulk, it’s important to play into proportions and keep the top close to the body. Here I am styling a new Abercrombie cream bodysuit that has a flattering wrap feature across the chest.

3. Button Front Cardigan and Denim Midi Skirt
Keeping things casual with a rib knit button front cardigan and long denim skirt. I have a few great white rib knit cardigans from Hollister and Target that I like to wear when I am looking to put together a casual fall outfit. A slouchy slightly over sized rib knit cardigan paired with a long denim skirt creates a great casual fall look. You can choose to wear the cardigan as a top (like I do) or you can wear a tank top underneath.

4.Cream Blazer with a Long Denim Skirt
With this style idea, I am balancing out the casual look to the denim skirt with a structured cream blazer that I’ve worn multiple times from Old Navy. This cream over sized blazer adds a layer of sophistication to this otherwise casual fall outfit.Β
