saturday skin care
I’ve missed posting for my Skin Saturday series so I’m back again with a new edition! This one includes some awesome Sephora loves (and maybe future loves!) and holy-grail drugstore products. Enjoy the post!
Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water // After using this product for roughly six months, I’ve quickly missed it whenever I run out. I found a bottle of this Garnier Micellar Water for under $6.00 at Publix yesterday and it truly removed all my mascara and foundation in a few quick swipes. Even if you have dry skin, this stuff will not dry you out!
Charcoal Face Sponge // I’ve been using charcoal sponges for a while now but instead of splurging on my usual Boscia one, I saw CVS sold similar dupes and started to test this cheaper one out for myself. I bought it at $3.99 and I saw some similarities but also a few differences. 1) The CVS sponge is slightly harsher on your skin. It does not get as soft as the Boscia one will over time. 2) The CVS one is marked at an incredible low price and I did end up buying another one yesterday. The CVS sponge is quite an affordable alternative to the pricey Boscia one but I do wish it was softer!
Philosophy “Clear Days Ahead” // I was recommended this product by a lovely employee at my local Sephora when she was dealing with breakouts. It was $22 which is pricey for the drugstore but on the more affordable side when talking about Sephora cleansers. So far I like how it smells like oranges, lathers up nicely, and contains salicylic acid which is an acne killer. I’m going to continue using it for another few weeks to see if I can spot any major differences to rave about it an update post! I want to try more products by this line like this “Clear Days” Moisturizer.
First Aid Beauty Oil-Free Mattifying Gel // ooh, this stuff feels so buttery and smooths over your skin amazingly well! I haven’t tried much from this line but I decided to try this moisturizer out because it contains oil-free ingredients and is great for the day and night. So far I am loving it!
Peter Thomas Roth Therapeutic Sulfur Masque // this was a splurge purchase for my birthday, but I feel so-so about it. My local Sephora employees were raving about this masque but I don’t know if I can see any difference to my skin from it yet. It has sulfur which is amazing for drying up pimples and I have used it as a spot treatment for overnight solutions, but I still don’t know if its helping or harming my skin! I’ve had a few break-outs since I started using it and I read online that that could happen so we will see in the next few weeks how things go.
Yes to Tomatoes Clearing Facial Mask // my cheaper alternative that I absolutely love is this mask from the drugstore. It costs about $15 and is a sulfur mask that dries up your acne fast. I like how affordable this mask is and that it is more of a natural solution to skin care. The entire line is great because I also love this moisturizer from Yes To.

I really wanted to buy the Philosophy Clear Days Ahead cleanser but I wasn't sure because I was hearing mixed things about it. I've been suffering from acne for years now but I still haven't found a good cleanser to treat my acne. Well I'm going to buy the Philosophy Clear Days Ahead cleanser and see if it works for me. 🙂
Your post was very helpful. Thank you! <3
Much love,
