happy halloween
Happy Halloween!
I am so excited that today is finally Halloween! There is nothing better than baking apple & caramel cookies, (like the ones pictured above that my roomie Jessica made last night!), watching scary movies, decorating your apartment for fall, carving pumpkins (or painting them like my roommates & I did!), eating chocolate covered everything, & dressing up.
Some of the decorations came from Bed Bath & Beyond, like the place mats! The ones pictured are on sale now for $1.39. They compliment our apartment colors–purple, orange, and creme! Our candle holder came from our good friend Lina’s garage sale and fits really nicely on our dining room table.
Onto the pumpkins! This Halloween we went to a pumpkin patch (you can see that post here) and had so much fun picking out our pumpkins together. In my opinion, fall is the perfect way to spend quality time with the people who mean the most to you. We picked out these pumpkins and painted them with white acrylic paint as a base. I also painted an “A” on the front of my pumpkin and added some gold circles. My roommate Nicole painted “Happy Fall” onto her pumpkin and added a beautiful purple design around the top. Any craft store will have acrylic paints and paint brushes!
The large platter that sits on the table in our living room was painted by my other roommate, Jessica. She spent a lot of time on this art piece and it turned out fabulously! I am very excited that we have the perfect place for it in our apartment. For the season, we have three cute mini pumpkins placed on the platter along with some purple accent beads.
The tapestry hanging on our wall is a new addition to our apartment decorations. Our walls are so long and they were white and empty until my roommates found this tapestry. We hung up some fun orange lights (Target, $12) just in time for Halloween. Make sure you read the recipe for these amazing caramel apple cookies! The original recipe link is included, as well as the ingredients list and directions.
I hope you have a fantastic October 31st and celebrate it in good fun with your friends and family! I look forward to blogging about the holidays this year. I hope to read your posts about your traditions for this season, too! Leave me a link to your blog in the comments.
