Nashville Travel Guide: My Stay at Omni Nashville Hotel
Before booking plane tickets for a girls weekend out to Nashville, this obvious question popped straight into my head, “Where should we stay?!” The options for hotels surrounding the downtown area of Nashville overwhelmed me. Every name-brand hotel out there could be found down the block from each other. After closely scanning over 5-8 hotels and reading up on reviews, I narrowed down the best options that were located in the heart of the downtown region of Nashville for easy access to popular sights.
Instead of opting for one of the typical name-brand hotels, I reached out to Omni Nashville Hotel to inquire about staying at their property for the weekend. To my delight, they immediately booked me for 2 nights inside their hotel! I was eager to see what people continued to rave about after a pleasant stay at Omni Nashville and in this post, you’ll read my personal experience as well as what to expect when you check into Omni Nashville yourself.
Hotel Location
Since my friend and I did not rent a car, we wanted to book a hotel stay somewhere within walking distance to Broadway and other iconic Nashville hotspots. The Omni Nashville could not have worked out any better! The location puts guests within walking distance to the brand new Johnny Cash Museum, the bar scene on Broadway street, and the Gulch along Music Row.
The hotel property is also conveniently connected to the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum. The last time I visited Nashville I walked through this expansive museum with my sister and best friend, Nicole. The museum provides in-depth tours featuring country legends as you learn more about the history of Nashville.
The amazing centralized hotel location allows you to walk a few blocks and end up on Broadway in a matter of minutes. Compared to other hotels in the area, some are located right outside of the downtown area, while Omni has easy access to major attractions. One may also rev up a motorized scooter to zip in and out of Nashville traffic for the day, too. We downloaded the Bird app to take on the city by scooter for a portion of our Nashville adventure! These electric scooters are pretty much popping up across the country and utilizing them in a major city like Nashville gives tourists the opportunity to see more of music city.
Hotel Amenities
This luxury hotel has incredible amenities. A rooftop pool? Yes. A fitness center overlooking the city? Why, of course! A relaxing 5,000-square-foot spa? You bet! A kind gentleman at guest services gave us the entire rundown of the property as soon as we checked in.
My friend Maddie and I dropped our bags off inside our guest room and began exploring the hotel. We stopped on the 4th floor to see what the rooftop pool entailed. It did not disappoint. The rooftop pool includes shaded cabanas, a jacuzzi, and an outdoor bar to grab an afternoon cocktail. If you are looking for a way to escape the city for some peace and quiet, I highly recommend chilling out for a couple of hours underneath the cabanas.
Omni Nashville Guest Suite Details
Our guest room had a king-sized bed, sofa bed, coffee maker, minifridge, desk, television, and full modern bathroom. Inside the closet, I found one ironing board, iron, and 2 robes. There were hangers that I immediately used to hang up some ironed pieces for the weekend ahead.
The guest rooms feature a sofa bed near the window. |
I already miss the comfort of this bed! The sheets and pillows kept me sound asleep. |
The coffee maker was perched on top of the counter above the minifridge. I made myself a morning cup of coffee and turned it into an iced coffee when I found where the ice machine was located. |
Unfortunately, our busy schedule did not leave us with room to relax poolside. However, we noticed plenty of guests basking in the sunshine and working on their tan lines which made us jealous and seriously envious! We only had 3 days in Nashville which meant we chose to explore the city overtaking the easy route complete with pool time. If we had an additional day I am sure we would have taken advantage of this rooftop oasis or spend an hour working out inside the state-of-the-art gym.
Mokara Salon & Spa is another amenities available to guests who want to pamper themselves on vacation. Equipped with full-service spa treatments, the Mokara Salon & Spa has it all. Each treatment begins in the relaxation room and carries on into the appropriate room for massages, pedicures, manicures, and facials.
Dining Options
Like Country superstar, Brett Eldredge mentions when you arrive in your room and turn on the television, the Omni offers Nashville’s only biscuit bar. Kitchen Notes, located downstairs inside the lobby, serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner to hotel guests looking for a taste of authentic Southern grub.
The farm-to-table concept offers plenty of homecooked meals inside a contemporary L-shaped restaurant. Walk down to Kitchen Notes in the morning after a long night of jamming out to live music and order a fresh coffee at the bar while you relax and wait for Nashville Hot Chicken and biscuits to arrive.
Before heading out for a long day walking through the city, stop by Bongo Java for a taste of Nashville’s oldest coffee brew. The baristas can whip up just about anything there and you can also take the opportunity to utilize the free lobby WiFi in their lounge while they mix together your drink.
Looking for an alternative to booking a five-star meal somewhere far from the comfort of your hotel room? Reserve a table at Bob’s Steak & Chop House if you want a romantic dinner for 2. Enjoy the finest corn-fed Midwestern prime beef and other award-winning dishes at Bob’s Steak & Chop House.
The second night we spent in Nashville, we actually ended up ordering room service from the hotel menu. The food took roughly 30 minutes to make its way up to our room and I loved eating a late-night meal from the comfort of a hotel bed. I also have to point out just how soft and comfy their beds are! I easily fell asleep both nights we stayed at the Omni Nashville and was able to crash a take an afternoon nap while gently resting my head on fluffy pillows.
Shopping
One of our favorite stores to visit again and again was called Five and Tenn. The old-fashioned take on a general store fit right in as a charming Nashville tradition. Inside the general store, you will find souvenirs and local memorabilia to take back home. The selection of merchandise also includes iconic fine leather goods and tasty chocolates from Olive & Sinclair Chocolate Co.
Upon walking around the hotel, the two of us stopped inside Five and Tenn to check out the selection of t-shirts, snacks, and cute trinkets to buy for friends and family. We both ended up purchasing soft NASH t-shirts! I went for the blush pink while Maddie chose a hunter green.
