Let’s talk about one of my favorite boot styles, the over-the-knee boot! Although I am an avid shoe buyer who loves to find new trendy shoes, there is still one pair of over-the-knee or (OTK) boots that I continue to wear each fall and winter. For me, an OTK boot has to fit properly and make my legs look slim. I am not a fan of wearing slouchy boots as I prefer the style of a tight form-fitting over-the-knee boot to wear over jeans or paired with skirts.

When I found this exact pair of over-the-knee boots, I loved them so much that I ended up repurchasing them in two more colors, gray and black. I guess when you really, really like something you just end up needing more of it, right? When it comes to two things: jeans and shoes, I am a difficult shopper to please. I have large feet (ahem, a size 10) and I have a smaller waist and thicker thighs so finding the right pair of jeans for my body takes time and patience. These over-the-knee boots had to fly with me on my recent trip to New York City. I planned out a styled photoshoot one morning in the city with Carter and I was determined to get some close-up shots featuring my favorite boots!

More details on my over-the-knee boots: these are named the “Marlo” Tan Over the Knee Suede Leather Boots from the popular retailer Goodnight Macaroon.

I made the splurge on these boots last year when they first became super trendy and it looked like every single fashion blogger on Instagram was styling a pair! I kept seeing them pop up on my feed until I made the big purchase myself last fall. Honestly, I get the hype now. These boots are just the perfect pair to own for the fall and winter. I think you can find so many ways to style these tan suede OTK boots. In my outfit look for this blog, I paired my tan ‘Marlo’ over the knee boots with a plaid tweed mini skirt from Target and a pink fuzzy chenille sweater.

PRO TIP: wait for Goodnight Macaroon to have a 40% off sale to purchase your own pair of over-the-knee boots. That’s what I did! The boots will run around $163 and then you can grab them for under $100 once they are 40% off. I would pay just under $100 for these boots again because I truly wear them a lot in the fall and winter. As a fashion blogger, I also had to put these exact boots to the test to determine if they are worth the hype! My final answer: yes, they are worth the hype and popularity.

PRO TIP: Choose the “Express Shipping” option when you check out to purchase these boots. Since the Goodnight Macaroon warehouse is based in China, it’s recommended to pick “express shipping” for your items to arrive much sooner.

What I Love About These Goodnight Macaroon OTK Boots?

These boots do NOT slide down. You can comfortably walk around for hours without feeling like your boots are going to move out of place! If you style these boots with jeans OR wear them on their own you will see what I mean. The zip closure feature also secures your legs into these boots for the best fit possible. I also need to mention that I have big feet (I typically wear a US size 9.5/10) so I am sure that these boots will fit all sizes the same way!

What Is the Sizing Like For These Goodnight Macaroon Over the Knee Boots?

For me, I had to size up to a 10.5 when ordering these Goodnight Macaroon OTK boots online. These boots are available in European sizes so a 10.5 is a size 42. I am SO glad that I ordered the next half-size up because the boots arrived in the perfect size. I’ve seen reviews online suggesting to size up by a half-size which is what I ended up doing! If you are in-between shoe sizes I would also recommend sizing up by a half-size so the boots fit nicely.My friend Jenna has an entire blog post dedicated to styling the Marlo Over the Knee Boots that you should check out for more style inspiration once you own these OTK boots. I especially love how she styled the boots over a dark wash pair of denim jeans with a cute plaid poncho!
