Hotel Review Sirata Beach Resort St. Pete Beach Staycation

This past weekend, I was invited by the Sirata Beach Resort to experience an overnight staycation on the gorgeous St. Pete Beach. The oceanview property treated my boyfriend and me to a luxurious and romantic getaway – that happened to be an easy 10-minute drive! This entire hotel review will highlight our stay and will include where we ate, what you can expect to find as you navigate your way through the hotel property, and how you should utilize any amount of time you spend at the Sirata Beach Resort to make lasting memories!
Resort Location
Obviously, when you book a stay on St. Pete Beach, it’s only appropriate to look for hotels with beachfront access. The closer to the beach the better, right? Luckily, the Sirata has direct beach access when you walk out to the white sandy dunes that lead you straight out to the calm Gulf of Mexico.
The Sirata Beach Resort is also close to Publix and Chick-Fil-A if you are in dire need of stocking up on groceries for the week for your family or want a quick bite for dinner after spending hours by the pool. You can easily walk to these two places, too. The Sirata has shuttle services that can also come in handy if you need to head to the other side of town to explore Downtown St. Petersburg attractions and restaurants.
The Pools + Jacuzzi
One of the perks of staying at The Sirata Resort are the two large blue whirlpools and jacuzzi. The two pools are great for lounging and hanging out by day working on your summer tan. If one pool is too busy you can easily walk across the boardwalk over to the other pool.

Access to the Beach
Of course, as with most beachfront resorts and hotels, the beach is steps away from your room. The beach walk took us a few minutes until we reached the Sirata beach hut. Prior to heading out to the water we also made sure to grab towels. The beach hut is where you can rent umbrellas, find out more information regarding the water activities, and inquire about the parasailing. We rented out two lounge chairs and an umbrella for the afternoon spent by the shore. I highly recommend an umbrella because you never know how strong those Florida rays can be, even one a cloudy day. Brian and I lathered ourselves up with plenty of creamy sunscreens and chilled out together listening to his beach playlist on water-resistant speakers. For the beach, I wore my new Amazon floral bikini. After a few hours laying out under the umbrella, we also dipped into the ocean to cool off.

When our beach day was complete, we took another dip in the pool! After all, our towels were still in our hands and we were still not ready to change out of our suits just yet. One of my boyfriend’s favorite aspects of this resort was the jacuzzi. At night the two of us relaxed by the jacuzzi with our drinks and listened to live music playing near the bar. Some resorts do not include jacuzzi tubs which is another reason why the Sirata was a great choice for our staycation! The resort package will be your best option if you plan on swimming throughout the length of your stay. Each member of your party will receive a blue wristband that grants access to the pools.
One of the two pools has cabanas to rent which have comfy couches, a circling fan, TV, and table for dining purposes. The complimentary WiFi also works near the pool so I was able to sit in the cabana while I worked for a few hours.
The Rooms and Suites
Our executive suite gave us a magnificent view of the Gulf. As soon as we walked in, I noticed two cozy queen-sized beds and a flatscreen TV. Upon walking further into our suite, I checked out the living room area complete with a second TV, sofa, dining table, and kitchen. Our suite also had two chairs outside on the balcony. In the morning, I used the complimentary coffee maker to start the perfect beach day off with caffeine.

Restaurants
There is no need to travel far for a great meal. My boyfriend and I enjoyed dinner and lunch at two of the restaurants inside the Sirata property during our staycation. Rum Runner’s Bar & Grille is where we spent the majority of our first night out. The two of us ordered refreshing fruity drinks and entrees from Rum Runner’s while we watched the sunset drop out into the distance.
In the morning, you can go downstairs to enjoy a buffet-style breakfast. However, on this specific staycation, we slept in until 11:00 am and waited until lunchtime to grab some food. The buffet breakfast did look quite good from what I briefly glanced at as we entered the Compass Grille.
I ate some seriously tasty chicken tacos while Brian opted for a fried grouper sandwich. The two of us were also pleasantly surprised to see that our check was under $40. The Rum Runner’s Bar & Grille also recently underwent a major transformation as of November 2018. You’ll want to experience a unique beachfront dinner by ordering from Rum Runner’s and relaxing in tropical Adirondack chairs near the firepits.
For lunch the following day, Brian and I went to Compass Grille. I ordered BBQ chicken tenders with sweet potato fries. Honestly, we should have held off until dinner to enjoy a meal at Compass Grille because I heard their portions of pasta are outstanding.
Our staycation was also a great chance for some friends to stop by and hang out. On our last day, I texted my friend Laura and her boyfriend Ryan to see if they wanted to come to swim in the pool and check out the hotel. The four of us grabbed Chick-Fil-A for dinner beforehand and waited for the storms to pass to enjoy the whirlpool and Gulf water. The sunset we witnessed was amazing — a mix of pink and orange — to end a great weekend at The Sirata Beach Resort, for sure!
