The 5 Clean Beauty Products & Brands You Need to Use
What Makes a Beauty Product Clean?
Firstly, I must address what exactly a “clean beauty brand” lists as some of its main ingredients. A clean beauty brand is FREE of sulfates, parabens, phthalates, mineral oil, and more harsh detergents. These ingredients are found within plenty of readily available beauty products and a lot of us beauty lovers overlook these harsh ingredients when shopping. I love how online retailers, such as Sephora, continue to change the beauty industry for the better and include seals of approval for clean beauty products when you shop online! Sephora is clearly making strides to include products for consumers to understand what ingredients will make up a certain item for sale. Clean beauty products and brands are taking the beauty industry by storm these days and I’ve found quite a long list of personal favorites to share with you today in this post. Although some beauty products still need to be tweaked a bit back in the lab to reach optimal performance, I have found a mix of clean facial cleansers, body washes, and face masks that work really well for my skin!
1. KORRES – Complete Complexion Kit
Let’s talk about a recent discovery of mine in the clean beauty world — KORRES! On an absolute whim, I picked up their Complete Complexion Kit for $45 to test out on my skin. I have combination skin so I suffer from not just an oily t-zone and chin, but also dry patches. How fun! The Complexion Kit includes three products in total: a cleanser, a face mask, and a rose brightening oil.
- Greek Yoghurt Foaming Cream Cleanser
- Pomegranate AHAs and Enzyme Resurfacing Mask
- Wild Rose Vitamin C Active Brightening Oil
I would say this trio combines everything you need to get your skin on track. The creamy Greek Yoghurt Foaming Cream Cleanser lathers up nicely and removes dirt, impurities, and makeup. I do have to use a quarter-size amount of the cleanser to effectively remove all of my makeup on heavy makeup days! I follow up on my skincare routine using the KORRES products with the resurfacing mask once a week. I apply a generous amount of the grainy Pomegranate AHAs and Enzyme Resurfacing Mask to my entire face and leave it on for approximately 10 minutes. The mask will leave your skin feeling SUPER soft and smooth and if you notice any redness don’t be alarmed as this is from the powerful AHAs. I have old acne scars that I use the resurfacing mask to treat.

3. Raw Sugar Living
I pride myself on being one of the first to discover Raw Sugar Living body wash WAY BEFORE Instagram influencers started to work with the brand! Ha! I only recently worked with Raw Sugar Living on their launch inside Bed, Bath & Beyond stores over on Instagram which was such an awesome moment for this longtime lover of their products. During my search for a body wash that smelled fantastic and had clean ingredients, I landed on Raw Sugar Living in Walmart one day. My first shower experience using their body wash is something I can still recall to this day! I’ve been a beauty geek for years, but I’ve never had such a pleasant experience with a CLEAN body wash in my life. Of course, tons of girls (and guys, too) enjoy using the fragrant body washes from Bath & Body Works, but did you know that inside one bottle of a BBW body wash you will find a ton of added ingredients? I immediately tossed out all of my old BBW body washes and to this day I solely use clean body washes such as this one I fell in love with from Raw Sugar Living! I also didn’t enjoy using the BBW products for their overpowering smells, and the Raw Sugar Living washes include a clean and subtle scent that lingers after you leave your shower.
I honestly need to spend some time gathering more than just body washes from Raw Sugar Living soon. They have an entire line of hand wash, sugar scrubs, foaming bath, bath fizzes, and more for me to stock up on in my bathroom cabinet.
4. First Aid Beauty
I was lucky to receive a gifted package of First Aid Beauty products a couple of months back. I switch up my cleansers every month or so and lately I use the Pure Skin Face Cleanser from First Aid Beauty. The cleanser contains:
- Aloe: Helps calm, soothe, and nurture skin.
- Allantoin: Helps calm and soothe skin.
- Glycerin: A natural humectant that helps hydrate and smooth skin’s appearance.
First Aid Beauty is another clean beauty brand to look out for. Sold at Sephora, you can also find a few trial sizes of this brand before you reach the checkout counter! I always see a smaller version of their cleansers in a cute $11.00 “Mini Size” Cleanser so you can easily try the product out without a huge financial commitment. If the cleanser isn’t for you, then you only wasted a little over $10 bucks instead of splurging on the full-sized version! This cleanser, as opposed to some thicker ones, is a lightweight cream that you really need to work into your hands to get a foamy lather, BTW! It’s a great cleanser for sensitive skin and people who are prone to reactions to cleansers.
