Each year I find new makeup products that make their way into my everyday makeup routine. This year was no different. I found a few new makeup products in 2019 that completely changed my step by step beauty routine in the morning for the better. From creamy liquid foundation to angled eyebrow pencils, I am sharing my favorite makeup products from 2019 that shaped my current beauty routine. Most of these makeup products are available at the drugstore, too! I dove deep into drugstore makeup in 2019 and I can’t wait to reveal my favorite makeup products from 2019 with you today in this post. Let’s jump straight into my list!
1. Tarte Amazonian Clay Full Coverage Foundation ($39.00)
This foundation may not be a drugstore one, but I sincerely added it to my favorite makeup products list today for a reason. A light application of this full coverage foundation goes a long way and it makes all of your imperfections (blemishes, redness) disappear in a single coat. I’ve owned this same tube of foundation from Tarte for the entire year of 2019 and I still have plenty left to take with me into 2020. I wear the lightest shade color “13 N Ivory” which is wonderful for people with fair skin tones with pink undertones. Another foundation alternative I should mention is a powder formula. My powder foundation favorite continues to be the BareMinerals Loose Powder Foundation in the color shade “Fair 1C”.

Now onto my favorite concealer from 2019 — it’s a super affordable one from e.l.f! My only negative about this concealer is that you have to spread it out quickly when you first apply it. I typically apply it right after my foundation and blend it out as soon as possible under my eyes! This concealer (I wear “Fair Beige”) will NOT budge once it’s on your face. It’s a steal at $6.00 and I would compare it to the more expensive and popular Tarte Shape Tape concealer. The thick doe foot applicator lets you easily conceal wherever you need to hide hyperpigmentation or redness on your skin. As with the Tarte foundation I previously talked about, a little goes a long way with this concealer! I dot two round circles of this concealer right under my eyes and take a brush to smooth it out. Sometimes I will resort to using my fingers to blend this product out nicely when I am in a rush, too.
3. NYX Professional Makeup Microbrow Pencil
Can we talk about how great this eyebrow pencil is from the drugstore? This NYX eyebrow pencil will cost you under $5 and sculpts your brows beautifully. I can’t live or do my makeup in the morning without an eyebrow product and this NYX discovery changed the way I shape my eyebrows in 2019. I wear the shade “Auburn” to match my red hair. My eyebrows have always been sparse and this precise eyebrow pencil allows me to fill them in without overdoing it. For the price, it’s a great alternative to more expensive eyebrow pencils. A runner-up fave to the NYX eyebrow pencil is a new discovery of mine from e.l.f. for $2.00.

4. Kat Von D Tattoo Liner
Eyeliner can be annoying to apply. I’ve had some bad experiences using eyeliner in the past, but this Kat Von D Tattoo Liner never fails me! I’ve got to boast about this user-friendly eyeliner because the long tip applicator helps the product glide so easily across the lash line. Spending a little more money on this eyeliner pays off because I’ve owned this same liner for years now and it still works well for me!
5. Wet n Wild Color Icon 10-Pan Eyeshadow Palette
Are you ready to find out my favorite eyeshadow palette from 2019? You will not believe the price! This Wet n Wild Eyeshadow Palette runs under $3.00 for a mix of 10 matte and shimmer shades at the drugstore. I especially love this eyeshadow palette (Nude Awakening) for my blue eyes because it comes with a range of taupes and nude pinks that look make my eyes pop. My favorite way to utilize this Wet n Wild Eyeshadow Palette is by adding a matte brown color all over my lid and popping one of the pink shimmer shades in the middle of my lid for some shine. I use the darker matte in the corner of my eye for definition. You will not be disappointed by this affordable and pigmented Wet n Wild Palette!
6. FOUND Baked Bronzing Powder, Golden Bronze
I think more people need to be talking about this new beauty brand available at Walmart stores. Walmart has a lot of beauty brands that I love and use on a regular basis so when I am out shopping for groceries I usually stop by the makeup aisle. I saw some chic packaging for a beauty brand called “FOUND” that I had never heard of before. I grabbed a few of the FOUND products (BB Cream and Bronzer) to try out for myself. Although the BB Cream did not impress me, I can happily say otherwise about the FOUND Baked Bronzing Powder. Holy crap this stuff is GOOD! The swirl of light and dark brown shades together makes my skin look naturally bronzed when I apply it as a contour. In 2020 I plan on stocking up on some more FOUND beauty products to experiment with from my local Walmart. I also keep this bronzer in my makeup bag as my new bronzer of choice and I wore it so much in 2019.
7. Pixi MatteLast Liquid Lipstick
As a beauty blogger, I am on the PIXI PR list which means I am gifted new PR product launches every few months. One of the latest collections I received in the mail included new eyeshadow palettes, liquid lipsticks, and more. I didn’t even think about touching this nude lipstick because I figured my pale skin tone is so light that I could never pull off a nude color on the lips. Oh, how I am so glad I finally caved and applied this Pixi MatteLast Liquid Lipstick this year!! I wear and love the shade “Matte Beige” and now I think I need to order the other shade options. These $14 liquid lipsticks are extremely pigmented and are also infused with rosehip oil (a favorite natural oil of mine!) for a punch of hydration. A runner-up lipstick favorite from 2019 is the Healthy Lip Velvet Liquid Lipstick from Physician’s Formula.

A classic mascara favorite from beauty bloggers and YouTubers alike is this iconic one from Too Faced. The Better Than Sex Mascara continues to top the list as one of the best mascaras and I highly agree with the popularity and hype around this makeup product. I have both the standard size and the travel size versions of this mascara from Sephora. When I travel, I only pack this mascara with me! This is a volumizing mascara in an ultra black formula to lift and curl the lashes for optimal definition.

As for blush, I have to shout out this palette from Smashbox for having one of the prettiest blush shades, ever! I also just love this contour palette as a multi-use makeup product. Included in this under $40 palette are two bronzer shades, one matte blush, two pearlescent highlighters, and a blendable matte banana powder shade for under eyes. You can do LITERALLY ANY type of makeup look with this Smashbox product. This palette contains a gorgeous matte bronzer that I also love using when I go out at night to sculpt my cheekbones and look like I’ve just returned from a vacation in the Bahamas. I not only enjoy using this Smashbox palette in the summer months, but I’ve also been reaching for it lately during the winter season for the latter half of 2019! My friend and fellow Tampa blogger Sara of Sara Magnolia also uses this same exact contour palette on her tan skin, too. It’s such a versatile product for all skin tones.

Oh what a great round up of products. I use to use that Tarte foundation and it is pretty good. I also used the Better then Sex mascara and it lives up to its name lol!
