Best Beauty Products from Trader Joe’s 2020
Don’t knock Trader Joe’s beauty selection until you’ve tested out these products on yourself, friends. The beauty aisle at your local Trader Joe’s consists of everything from citrus-scented shampoo to natural bars of soap. As I spent an hour grocery shopping for food last week, I also made time to check out the beauty section to see what looked new.
I think I ended up buying just as much in the beauty aisle as I did in the food areas! Even though I recently restocked on my current favorite facial cleanser, I know I’ll be back to purchase Trader Joe’s All-in-One Cleanser in the future.

During this recent trip to Trader Joe’s, I needed to be careful not to buy too many beauty products at one time. With all of the extra free time I have because of the quarantine, I am on a major online shopping kick and I want to take a step back and reevaluate the beauty products already sitting in my bathroom vanity. With that in mind, I limited myself to just a couple of beauty products from Trader Joe’s that made sense.
Let’s dive into the beauty products that ended up leaving the store with me, shall we? Just to note, I’ve already started incorporating all of these products into my shower routine as of last week with positive results. I’m giving my honest opinions on all 4 of these products as well as sharing some more top-rated Trader Joe’s beauty items.
Trader Joe’s Lavender Salt Scrub
The first product that caught my eye in the beauty aisle of Trader Joe’s was this luxurious salt scrub. In the shower, I am constantly scrubbing off old self-tan or exfoliating my dry skin to reveal a smoother appearance.
A lavender salt scrub such as the one available at Trader Joe’s amps up my entire shower routine. With the addition of this lavender salt scrub, I leave the shower with my legs and arms feeling incredibly smooth! I’ll scoop out a generous amount from the container and use it all over my legs to exfoliate them. The consistency of this scrub equates to oil rather than a watered-down viscosity.
Trader Joe’s Nourish Shower & Bath Cleansing Oil with Almond Oil
One more product currently residing in my bathroom shower right now is the cleansing oil with almond oil from TJ’s. At first, I thought this was a cleanser for your face, however, it turns out this cleansing oil adds moisture to your body. Once a small amount of this sweet almond-scented cleansing oil drops onto your skin you’ll start to notice it turn into a milky consistency.
Included in this affordable $7.00 cleansing oil you’ll find a blend of almond oil, sunflower seed oil, grape seed oil, castor seed oil to work together to hydrate and nourish the skin. To be honest I’ve been applying this cleansing oil to my legs to use it as a layer between my skin and my Billie razor for a smooth shave. Compare the $7 Trader Joe’s cleansing oil to a much more expensive one from L’Occitane (trust me as I’ve used both) and treat yourself to a pamper night.
Trader Joe’s Shea Butter & Coconut Oil Hair Mask
Where has this hair mask been all my life!? It’s been sitting at Trader Joe’s just waiting for my arrival. MakeupAlley reviewed this product and granted it a solid 4/5 rating. The price of $3.99 shocked me. Into my cart this hair mask went!
You can’t beat ingredients like shea butter and coconut oil for the hair. Those two ingredients are known as deeply nourishing for everything from the hair down to the feet. The TJ hair mask also includes argan oil and vitamin e making it the ultimate hydrating mask for any hair type. The consistency feels “putty-like” and thicker than a normal hair mask.
I smooth a lot of it over my hair from roots to ends and leave it n for 5 minutes while I continue shaving my legs or washing my body in the shower at night. Once I rinse it out of my hair, I’m left with the smoothest detangled locks, ever.
Trader Joe’s Shea Butter & Coconut Oil Hair Serum
Once my hair towel-dries I’ve been pumping a little bit of the shea butter & coconut oil hair serum on my ends. The serum smells fabulous and for the low price, it’s a nice addition to my hair care routine. My fine hair tends to feel super dry on the ends and I’ve been searching for an inexpensive yet effective solution that just so happens to come from a grocery store! Ha!
Of course, who doesn’t want their hair smelling like they just came back from a beach vacation? The combination of shea butter, keratin, Vitamin E, plant-based fruit extracts, argan oil, macadamia seed oil, and coconut oil flawlessly product silky strands. The hair serum provides the right amount of shine and luster. Don’t skip out on this coconut-vanilla scented salon-quality formula to keep your hair feeling soft all day long. The hair serum is also 100% free of parabens, sulfates, phthalates, and surfactants.
