8 Trendy Spring 2021 Staples

1. Linen Shorts

The first item on my list: linen shorts. I found this comfortable pair of neutral striped linen shorts at Old Navy. Right now, these shorts are only $12! Linen fabrics are always a must-have for the Spring/Summer season.

I am constantly on the look out for linen shorts and dresses to add to my wish list. Thankfully, while out filming an Old Navy Shop With Me YouTube video, I noticed these shorts hanging up with a sale sign.

2. Espadrille Sandals

If I could tell you to go out and get yourself ONE pair of new shoes for Spring, these would be the ones I’d suggest. Ever since ordering these espadrille sandals from Walmart last month, I’ve been wearing them nonstop!

The best part about espadrilles, especially these neutral ones, are that they simply go with any outfit. These espadrille sandals are from the inexpensive and trendy Time and Tru line exclusive to Walmart and run TTS (true to size).

I’ve worn them styled on the blog a few different ways. The memory foam cushioning all over the sandal also provides all-day comfort for running around completing my weekend errands. For under $15, you will be so happy with these sandals for Spring and Summer!

3. Rattan Wicker Bags

Not only do I have a shoe obsession, but I have a serious problem with buying myself new bags! I mean, doesn’t everyone want to pick up a new bag to enjoy as the seasons transition?

One of the best places to find trendy handbags: Francesca’s. This store always has the latest in trendy bags whenever I pop in to browse what’s new. One of the cutest handbags I recently picked up is this light grey rattan wicker bag.

I’ve worn this cute wicker cross body bag in a few styled Instagram Reels and even featured it on YouTube to accompany my try-on hauls. It’s a super functional bag that comes with detachable straps so you can carry it across your shoulder or just in your hand.

4. A Great Pair of Denim Shorts

Finding the best pair of denim shorts for me feels like an exhausting task! The denim shorts I prefer to wear during the warmer months have to feel stretchy. There’s no worse feeling than when you put on a pair of denim shorts and they dig into your thighs.

Recently, I decided to give the infamous Abercrombie & Fitch Mom denim shorts a try. Oh my gosh, was I impressed by these shorts! I picked up my usual size 10/30 and there were no issues with the fit whatsoever. No gaping in the back.

Although these Curve Love denim shorts (as seen on me in the image below) appear shorter in the front, I guarantee you that they cover your behind. I hate when high-rise shorts don’t cover up in the back the way I would like! The longer length in the back really sold me on keeping these as a Spring staple piece.

5. Slip Dresses

During one of my last Walmart hauls, I ended up styling the most elegant slip dress. If you haven’t noticed the slip dress trend taking the Internet by storm this season, then let me share some insight with you!

Slip dresses take me back to the 90s with spaghetti strap dresses and cardigans to match. I’m loving the simplicity of this brown polka dot slip dress that I picked up from Walmart for an affordable $32.

6. Lace Camisole Top

One of my favorite staples to mix and match with during the Spring is a neutral lace cami. I found the best one from Express recently and wanted to highlight it in today’s post.

In the outfit below, I paired my lace trim camisole top with a pair of straight leg denim and a thin, lightweight cardigan. I’m wearing this exact Express lace cami in a size medium.

7. Flat Brim Hat

I’ve actually owned this same Urban Outfitters flat brim hat for the longest time! It’s a constant in my Spring/Summer wardrobe and the initial investment was so worth it.

For under $50, my Urban Outfitters beige-colored flat brim hat always completes an outfit.

For most of my outfit photo shoots, I’ll bring this hat with me. There are more colors to choose from online, but I think this neutral/beige color pairs nicely with anything!

8. Floral Dresses

One of the last Spring Staples to scoop up for the Springtime: floral printed dresses. Just the other day I posted a huge round-up with both maxi and mini-length floral dresses. Places where I pick up floral dresses are Francesca’s, Target, and Forever 21.
