7 Cute Summer 2021 Shoe Trends

1. Flatforms

Take a platform and a flat sandal together to create a “flatform” style of shoe. Check out these brand new flatform sandals from DSW. I love the mix of rattan and faux snakeskin in this pair.

Personally, I think flatforms are a more comfortable version to the standard platform. The flat style makes it much easier to walk around in. These flatforms from Abercrombie are a top-seller and would look beautiful paired with a long flowy maxi dress.

2. Embellishments

Level up your sandal game with a pair of pearl-embellished flats for Summer 2021. Pearls, studs, and other embellishments will make an appearance this season. Look for strappy sandals topped with spiky cone studs from Steve Madden at Nordstrom to follow this hot shoe trend.

3. Woven Espadrilles

A classic shoe for Spring/Summer? An espadrille. As I transition into wearing wedges and sandals with dresses and skirts, I looked for a new pair of woven espadrilles to order.

The espadrille wedges that I am wearing in the outfit shot below are Vince Camuto Jellisa Espadrille Wedge Sandals. These wedges from Vince Camuto fit true to size and I have on a size 10. Although they are a bit pricey, I know they will last me from now until way into the summer season.

My specific Vince Camuto espadrille wedges come in more color options, too. For me, I felt like the cream color would mesh well as a versatile shoe! The black and red pairs are also gorgeous shoes.

Right now these wedges are on sale at HSN for under $75 when they retail for above $120.

4. Quilted Slides

Since owning this pair of black quilted slides, I have worn them countless times. Recently, I even wore them out to the beach! Quilted slides and even braided slides feel effortless and chic at the same time. I’m glad I own a black quilted slide because they go with everything, too. A trend that started by designer Bottega Veneta in 2019, square-toe heels are here to stay well into Summer 2021. As with other 90s trends, square-toe shoes continue to make their mark on 2021 fashion.

6. Ankle-Strap Sandals

These Walmart ankle-strap sandals are one of my best purchases this year so far. I hope they keep restocking these because they are inexpensive and comfortable with cushioned memory foam inserts.

7. Wide-Band Sandals

One final stylish shoe for the Summer includes sandals with wide-bands at the top. Sandals with wide straps are extremely comfortable for Summer. I love the extra support given to my feet (I wear a size 10) whenever I have a wide-band sandal on.
