5 Fall 2022 Shoe Trends To Wear This Season
5 Fall 2022 Shoe Trends
1. Chain Mules
One of the first Fall shoe trends I need to share with you are chain mules, or just mule flats in general. Back when the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale was going on in July, I noticed a lot of chain mule flats on sale. Steve Madden makes affordable mules that are also extremely comfortable.
At Walmart, you can get the Steve Madden look for less with their spin-off line called Madden NYC. The other day when I was at Walmart I spotted these beige and gold chain mules available in my size 10. Of course, I had to buy them because they were also under $25!
The gold chain detail on these mules makes the shoe look expensive. Not only are these mules great for everyday life, but I think you can easily wear them to the office.
2. Loafers
With inspiration from the 70s visible at most retailers this season, you have to consider investing in a pair of loafers. I hesitated at first to accept this trend because I didn’t know if I could pull off wearing loafers.
However, once I found these platform loafers at Target for under $40, I decided to go for it. My exact loafers also come in white. Once inside Target, I debated on which color to go with. I am glad I went with this rich brown shade. A note on sizing for these loafers – I did size down to the 9 1/2. Typically I wear a size 10 for most shoes, but these run big.

3. Western Boots
One trend that stands out from the rest is the resurgence of the Western boot. Western boots are all over Instagram and Pinterest for Fall 2022. Right now I only have a pair of slouch Western ankle boots from Walmart to embrace the Western shoe trend.
You can also find a lot of tall Western boots on Amazon for under $50. One day I will order a pair of these white Western-inspired boots from Amazon. For now, I like the look and feel of my neutral slouch boots that fit TTS.
4. Chelsea Boots
Knit Chelsea boots are a classic fall shoe. These are my favorite find from Walmart for under $30. Typically I style my knit Chelsea boots underneath my straight-leg jeans from Old Navy for a casual fall look.

5. Cut-Out Ankle Booties
More of a classic style, cut-out ankle booties aren’t going anywhere any time soon. My light grey cut-out ankle booties have been in my Fall shoe collection for at least 4 years by now.
Whenever I’m in a pinch on what type of shoe to wear in the Fall, I reach for these neutral ankle booties. Boots with cut-outs and slits on the side are also on-trend for Fall 2022. Not only are we noticing cut-outs with clothing this season, but also on accessories and shoes!
