5 Winter Fashion Trends To Wear Now

When a new season arrives, the first thing I search for online is what are the fashion trends to consider wearing. Some trends are easy to style and some can involve a little more thought. Since I spent so much of my time researching fashion trends and picking up trendy pieces to style, I wanted to break down the top 5 winter fashion trends to wear right now.

You may recognize a few of these trends if you follow a lot of style influencers on Instagram. I know I’ve seen a major increase in women of all ages wearing the infamous UGG Tasman slippers with white socks lately. Personally, I wear a look for less version to the pricey UGGs that I grabbed at Walmart for under $17.

1. The Color Red

Since I have naturally red hair it took me some time to warm up to the idea of wearing shades of red. Typically I steer clear from red clothing because I don’t think it looks the best paired with my hair color, but recently I’ve had a change of heart.

The color red has been a popular fashion trend for the fall and now into the winter. Walmart has great red clothing pieces that you can get to incorporate this color into your winter wardrobe. Abercrombie as has a lot of beautiful red clothing (like this strappy red dress) for winter events. You can play around with red accessories (shoes, handbag) or go full throttle with a stunning red dress.

2. Chunky Blanket Scarves

Last year I noticed more and more chunky knit blanket scarves showing up on my IG feed. This year, chunky blanket scarves are on major trend paired with jeans and UGG slip-ons. You can get a reasonably priced blanket scarf on Amazon or Abercrombie right now.

3. Cozy Slippers

A trending shoe style that first started on Pinterest: UGG Tazman Slippers. Don’t want to spend over $100 on the real UGGs? No problem! I have shared a bunch of affordable UGG Tazman look for less slipper in the widget above. I have a pair of $17 UGG slipper look-a-likes from Walmart that give the same vibe as the real thing!

Starting in the spring time a lot of retailers were incorporating silver metallics into their clothing and accessories. Silver metallics are not going away any time soon, especially in the winter with the holiday season. Try out this trend with a silver metallic purse or experiment with a sequin skirt.

A jacket trend that’s popular for winter 2023 is the bomber jacket. What’s particularly great about the sherpa bomber jacket I’m wearing in the outfit below is the fact that it’s SO warm and cozy on the inside. The sherpa lining on the inside makes it incredibly comfortable to wear on a chilly winter day. A bomber jacket can elevate a simple outfit, too. You can wear a white tee and jeans and throw over a bomber jacket to look like a stylish Pinterest girl.
