Carry-On Only Vacation Capsule Wardrobe

In recent years I’ve personally transformed into a carry-on only type of packer. It may be hard to imagine this as I am a fashion blogger who loves to bring along stylish clothing no matter where I am headed on a trip! You may be wondering HOW I am able to use a carry-on luggage for all of my trips, right? I do have some tips for you to use for the next time you need to pack a carry-on luggage.

Tips for Packing a Carry-On Luggage

1. Lay out all of your items in front of you BEFORE you pack them up into your carry-on.
2. Mix and match your outfits and take photos of how you plan on wearing each item during your trip.
3. Invest in packing cubes and use them wisely.
4. Pack your heaviest/thickest items on the bottom of your luggage FIRST.
5. Roll up and fold everything inside your luggage.

Vacation Capsule: Bottoms

With vacation bottoms it’s key to have a good variety of dressy and casual items. I suggest bringing along a sleek pair of tailored trousers for dressed up dinner nights as well as soft linen pants to wear during daytime exploring. Choose your preference in denim wash for denim shorts (I chose white denim here) depending on your personal style. I also threw in a cute neutral striped linen maxi skirt to pair nicely with all of the tops featured in this vacation capsule.

Vacation Dresses

Light and flowy dresses are typical to bring with you for a warm weather vacation. In this carry-on only packing guide I have a crochet swim cover-up dress as well as a neutral printed linen dress from Abercrombie.

Vacation Accessories

As for vacation accessories, you’ll need a good pair of sunglasses and hat to wear protection from the sun. I think a pair of pearl earrings and pearl necklace look elegant with any of these outfit combinations, too.

With bags I’d say pack anywhere between 2-4 bags depending on the type of activities you have planned for your trip. I think a neutral shoulder bag would be ideal for a dressy night out while a beach tote feels reserved for a day by the water.

Shoes for a Vacation Capsule

Warm weather activities may include a day spent walking around a city or a day spent relaxing by the pool. However you plan on spending your vacation, I’d recommend bringing along a few various shoes for casual and dressy events alike.

For example, I would bring super casual and cheap flip-flops with you if any part of your trip involves the beach or pool setting. These slip-on sandals will come in handy when you want to get around. Nobody wants to walk barefoot from the hot beach sand up to the concrete pavement near the restaurant for a snack, right?

If your daytime vacation activity involves walking around a new city then I’d opt for comfortable tennis shoes or running sneakers. These days you can find some pretty trendy and cute sneakers like this pair from Hoka that I personally own and love.
