How to Style a Suit Vest

One of the trendiest tops for summer? A suit vest. I have quite a few outfit ideas shown here to help you take on this menswear inspired item for summer 2024. It took me some time to come around on the suit vest trend. I thought suit vests wouldn’t fit in with my naturally girly and feminine aesthetic. 1. Suit Vest + Wrap Skort

This is one of my favorite ways to style a suit vest. Since the suit vest has a naturally masculine style to it, I would add something more feminine on the bottom for juxtaposition. At Old Navy I picked up a neutral linen wrap skort and have been styling it countless ways ever since! Now I can pair it with a white suit vest for a trendy look.

2. Suit Vest + Striped Linen Pants

Create a casual and effortless outfit by pairing a suit vest with striped linen pants. I’ve seen this exact look on Pinterest and now I have created my own version to share with you! The striped linen pants that I have on are also affordable from Target. This outfit would be ideal for spring/summer as linen has a breathable nature to help you stay cool in the hot weather.

3. Suit Vest + Tailored Shorts

Elevated your suit vest look with a pair of tailored shorts. I also love how this outfit features a monochrome feel with the all white. A classic tailored short should be a wardrobe staple as well if you are looking to add another pair of bottoms into your closet. Some of my favorite tailored shorts are these from Abercrombie and these from Target.

4. Suit Vest + Printed Shorts

Add some color to your suit vest look with a pair of fun printed shorts. After recently placing a summer order at LOFT, I ended up finding the cutest blue and white printed linen shorts for summer. I am so excited to wear this outfit on vacation in June! The printed shorts as seen in this look are also comfortable from LOFT – I have a size medium.

5. Suit Vest + Jeans

For a dressed down look wear your suit vest with a pair of denim jeans. My go-to place for denim jeans is Old Navy. Keep the rest of your outfit simple with sandals like these white and gold buckle Target slides.

6. Suit Vest + Trousers

If you want to nail the European chic vibe then I would wear a suit vest with tailored trouser pants. These neutral linen trouser pants are a favorite find from Target.
