Ultimate Nighttime Skincare Routine: 3 Steps To Clear Skin
Step 1: Cleanse
To Use: Be sure to sanitize your hands prior to applying your face wash! Take the cleanser into the palms of your hands and run water underneath them to start the foaming process. Once the cleanser foams, begin to apply it to your skin. Make sure you pay attention to each part of your face and don’t forget about the makeup that could be lingering near your hairline!
Step 2: Toner
To Use: Apply the Ole Henriksen Balancing Force Oil Control toner directly to a dry cotton pad. Gently swipe the cotton pad using upward motions across your face. Check the cotton pad for any remaining cleanser residue and if necessary use a second cotton round for another swipe of toner.
Step 3: Moisturizer
The final step to your complete skincare routine needs to include a moisturizer! There are a lot of great moisturizers on the beauty market to choose from, but I hope my suggestion makes it to your bathroom counter soon.
No matter what skin type you have, even oily skin, needs a healthy dose of moisture. As someone with combination skin, I find myself needing to add a moisturizer to my skincare routine on a nightly basis to keep my dry skin at bay.
Yes, I do have an oily t-zone, but I also have areas of dry skin that need extra moisture. I also use a special product for acne-fighting from Jan Marini called Age Intervention Duality which contains benzoyl peroxide. This creamy anti-acne product can leave my skin feeling dry which is yet another reason why a good moisturizer is important to invest your money in.
I know the price tag looks scary, spending over $60 on one single beauty product is not ideal, but I do believe that you get what you pay for with this creamy moisturizer from Drunk Elephant. Beauty editors continue to rave about Drunk Elephant products year after year which is why I trust the brand so much myself. I typically switch up my moisturizer from a cheaper drugstore one to this Drunk Elephant one to save as much product as possible, too. I will use my Drunk Elephant moisturizer on days when I feel like I need to provide my skin with an extra boost of collagen.
Right now you can also score a small sample of this Drunk Elephant moisturizer (and bonus face wash) as your birthday gift through Sephora. You can also buy the “littles” set of Drunk Elephant products to test this one out before you make the expensive commitment.

Totally important steps! Make sure you choose a cleanser right for your skin type too. I have oily skin and could never use a milky cleanser.
