What I Bought and Loved This Month
What I Bought and Loved This Month
Hi, there! In today’s round-up style post, I am sharing what I bought and loved this month. In terms of fall style picks, I am definitely noticing a pattern of soft neutrals with rust-colored pieces thrown into the mix.
Even though the fall/winter season brings a more muted tone to anyone’s wardrobe that doesn’t mean compromising on trends! In particular, I am eyeing more touches of faux leather fabrics on tops and bottoms this year. Have you noticed this trend as well?
As I share these beloved style picks throughout the post I am accompanying the products with completely styled outfit shots. What better way to share what I bought and loved this month than by sharing exactly how I styled each piece from head to toe. Scroll down to see each product pictured above in action from this month.
Express Lace Satin Cami
One fantastic layering piece to own is a satin lace camisole top. I found mine in a light pink color from Express. Satin camisoles are silky staples to wear for work or for a night out depending on how you style it. Here I am wearing my silky satin cami with a cozy knit cardigan and relaxed boyfriend jeans for a casual daytime look.
Barefoot Dreams CozyChic Boardwalk Cardigan
To read my full review of the Barefoot Dreams Cardigan check out this blog post. Little did I know how many times I’d find myself reaching for this cozy cardigan! This season I’d consider my Barefoot Dreams cardi a staple item.
Not only do I enjoy lounging on the couch watching Netflix while wearing it, but it seamlessly transitions into a daytime look for running errands. It’s definitely an investment item, but as I find myself wearing it more and more, I appear to be getting my money’s worth out of it.
High-Rise Vintage Straight Cropped Jeans
My apologies for cutting off the rest of these jeans in this mirror pic, but I hope it still does these pants justice! During a recent Target sale, I ended up purchasing this pair of cream high-rise vintage straight cropped jeans from the line Universal Thread.
Even though I couldn’t try these pants on in-store I still took them home with me to style in my office space. No need to return them because the size 10 fits me perfectly and I couldn’t wait to begin styling these stretchy straight cropped pants for Fall!
Long Sleeve Turtleneck Top
This time of year means stocking up on basic long sleeve tops! A great basic is this rust-colored long sleeve turtleneck I found at Kohls. The color I chose, terracotta rose, looks beautiful for the fall season. These soft affordable turtlenecks ($15.99) also come in other colors like green and white.
H&M Faux Leather Skirt – Cream
Basic long sleeve tops paired with mini skirts are a recipe for the ideal Fall look. After avoiding the mall for a decent amount of time, I finally mustered up the courage to mask up and check out H&M. My local H&M already looked heavily filled with the best fall items. A certain item that spoke to me? A faux leather mini skirt.
As with most retailers, I couldn’t try this skirt on in-store so I purchased it on a whim to see how I felt about it at home. Luckily, the size 10 worked out! I already wore this H&M skirt with my rust-colored turtleneck to grab dinner with my Mom on a particularly cool Fall evening.
Minimalist Chain Tote Bag (Cloud/Dumpling Bag)
Let’s chat Fall handbags for a sec! A trendy handbag to have for Fall 2020? The cloud-shaped or dumpling bag. It’s a ruched bag that gathers to form a “cloud” or “dumpling” shape. Mine arrived just in time to begin styling cute fall outfits. I took it around with me on the weekend when my friends and I ventured out to Tampa. My exact brown dumpling bag comes from SHEIN and costs $13.

Crystal Floral Bands 3pc – A New Day™ Gold
Looking for some elegant and inexpensive gold rings? Don’t skip out on these $10 floral bands from Target. Personally, I choose gold over silver jewelry any day, which is why these gold rings at Target sold me so quickly! My rings are in a size 7. In a single pack, you’ll get 3 stackable rings for $10.
Women’s Single Pack Fabric Face Mask – Universal Thread™
It wouldn’t be a round-up post in 2020 if I didn’t include a face mask favorite! A face mask has become a Fall staple in 2020, so why not choose a fashionable one? Most of my face masks are from Old Navy or Target.
I wear this cheap $2 Universal Thread face mask over others because of the bendable nose piece on the top of the mask and for the comfort it provides me during the day. Target and Old Navy have face masks that are comfy, adjustable, and made with fun prints.
Amazon Sweatshirt Pullover
When I’m relaxing at home on the weekends, I like to wear big oversized pullovers. A pullover that you can find me in, again and again, is my Summer Fridays + Self Care Club Limited Edition pullover that I bought during the exclusive sale. Although this sweatshirt has since sold out, I’ve found a similar pullover at Amazon for under $20.

Adidas Swift Run Sneakers
Whether you’re running on a treadmill or walking your dog, a pair of solid sneakers are a must-have. Every 6 months or so I like to invest in a new pair of sneakers for myself. Lately, Adidas has impressed me as a sneaker brand! On my radar were neutral/pink colored sneakers. Check out these salmon pink Adidas sneakers at DSW. I own another pair of Adidas Cloudfoam sneakers in gray.
Women’s Lainee Heeled Scrunch Fashion Boots – Universal Thread™
One final item that I bought this month and have been loving: new knee-high boots from Target. I bought my usual size 10 in these scrunch knee-high boots at Target and have already styled them with flowy long-sleeve dresses as seen here on Instagram. This pair of boots retails for under $40 and I’ve seen similar styles reach over $200 which makes this Universal Thread option so affordable!
