My hair care routine has shifted over the past year to include more clean and sulfate-free products.

In a recent PR gifting, the Briogeo team sent over a kit filled with their Scalp Revival line. Over the past few months, I’ve added the Scalp Revival Charcoal + Coconut Oil Micro-Exfoliating Scalp Scrub Shampoo to my hair routine.

Since I’ve had plenty of time to use this scalp scrub shampoo, I figured now I can accurately provide a review!

In addition to the scalp scrub shampoo, I also spent a couple nights using the Scalp Revival™ Charcoal + Tea Tree Cooling Hydration Mask. Let’s talk about the scalp scrub first and later I’ll share my experience with the hydration mask!

Scalp Revival Charcoal + Coconut Oil Micro-Exfoliating Scalp Scrub Shampoo

Out of all of the shampoos to wash my hair over the years, there’s never been quite like this one from Briogeo. The scalp scrub shampoo includes a mix of charcoal, coconut oil, and peppermint.

Once you scoop out a small amount of this scalp scrub from the container you want to immediately go to town rubbing it into your scalp. The refreshing peppermint smell made me feel like it was the holiday season, not going to lie! I tend to use a lot of peppermint products during November and December.

As someone who suffers from an oily scalp, I knew this product could help me remove excess oil-build up. Let’s call this scalp scrub my new magic tool to effectively remove oil-build up right from the comfort of my own shower!

Scalp Revival™ Charcoal + Tea Tree Cooling Hydration Mask

Whenever I want to treat my hair to an extra dose of hydration, I go for the Briogeo Charcoal + Tea Tree Hydration Mask. This mask comes in the Briogeo hair kit you purchase from Sephora, too.

The Sephora exclusive Briogeo hair kit includes the charcoal + tea tree hydration mask, scalp shampoo, and two travel-size versions of their iconic dry shampoo and scalp treatment.

What I love the most about this cooling hydration mask is how it not only removes build-up, but it provides ample hydration to my hair. The mask contains a combo of hyaluronic acid and aloe vera which aid in hydration.

While in the shower, I will squeeze out some of the charcoal hair mask and apply it all over my hair for 10-15 minutes. The cooling peppermint scent also creates quite the aromatic experience for me. The mask itself has a thin consistency so I add a good amount of it to cover my entire head.

Every few days I reach for the scalp shampoo and the hydration mask from the Scalp Revival line from Briogeo. In between using these products, I still use this gentle shampoo and replenishing conditioner for my fine hair.
