High End Makeup Products That Are Actually Worth the Splurge
Hi, friend! Bringing you a really fun blog post centered around makeup products that I believe are actually worth the extra money! Yes, I do consider myself a drugstore makeup junkie, but in my collection I have quite a few stand-out makeup products that are above the drugstore price-point.
Spending extra money on makeup can make you instantly feel uncertain because what if you shell out over $40 on a makeup product that you end up hating? With this in mind, I decided to list out some of the best high end makeup products that are actually worth the splurge for you!
Today I am sharing some stunning bronzers, foundations, and other high end beauty products that I own and truly love to use. Nothing you see here is brand new. Everything I am sharing has been in my makeup collection for at least 6 months so I can give honest feedback on each item.
Born This Way Undetectable Medium-to-Full Coverage Foundation
At first I felt skeptical about this foundation from Too Faced Cosmetics. On YouTube, I watched a lot of people review this foundation and fall in love with it which finally encouraged me to try it out for myself.
Boy did this foundation impress me! It virtually eliminates any signs of redness, discoloration, and even hides blemishes for an all-day oil-free look. On days when I have a self-tan on I reach for the shade Porcelain which has just a little more yellow to it.
The Born This Way foundation comes in 30 different shades and you can easily find your perfect one on ULTA’s website with color swatches. For my natural skin color, I go with the lighter shade Snow that has rosy undertones. Each foundation contains hydrating coconut water and hyaluronic acid to provide the face with a skin-like finish.

IT Cosmetics Bye Bye Pores Bronzer
Moving onto bronzers! One of my go-to matte bronzers comes from the brand It Cosmetics. What a stunning result I get from sweeping this velvety smooth bronzer along my cheekbones.
This It Cosmetics bronzer has pore-blurring technology. To apply this matte bronzer, I use the It Cosmetics fluffy airbrush angled brush and it creates a flawless bronzed glow on the skin.
Smashbox Cali Contour Blush, Highlighter, & Bronzer Face Palette
Another must-have in my makeup collection is this Smashbox face palette. It has a great selection of warm bronzers, pretty blushes, and striking highlight shades to mix and match.
Whenever I travel I take this face palette with me in my suitcase. You can call this face palette a one-and-done kind of makeup product! It’s $40, but for the price, you can truly justify splurging a little on such a practical and mult-use makeup palette.
I’ve honestly mentioned this exact Smashbox face palette on the blog so many different times. Heck, it even has 5-Star reviews online at ULTA, so it must be good, right? The shades within this face palette that I choose to wear the most are on the right side, with the light brown golden matte bronzer and the blush.
Benefit BADgal BANG! Volumizing Mascara
As soon as I am wrapping up my makeup routine and need a lengthening mascara, I typically reach for the BADgal BANG! Volumizing Mascara from Benefit Cosmetics. It never fails me! I love how it makes my lashes look coated and lengthened in seconds.
Benefit Cosmetics Roller Lash Curling & Lifting Mascara
Not sure how I ended up sharing two mascaras, but here me out!
Another amazing mascara I’ve worked into my everyday makeup routine is also from Benefit. The Roller Lash mascara does wonders for my lashes to coat my lashes to look defined all day long. The wand has a patent-pending tip for precise lash curling, too.
Charlotte Tilbury Pillow Talk Original Matte Revolution Lipstick
Switching it up to talk about lipstick. You might have heard about this iconic Charlotte Tilbury shade, Pillowtalk.
After much consideration I finally purchased my first tube of Pillowtalk matte lipstick a few years back. You can see how much I’ve used it up below! I’ve completely flattened the original curved lipstick shape. It’s true that Pillowtalk has a universally flattering dark pink pigment that looks great on so many skin tones.
Of course, the beautiful rose gold packaging makes it a great lipstick to throw in your bag. When in doubt, I finish my makeup routine off with the Charlotte Tilbury Pillow Talk Original Matte Revolution Lipstick no matter the occassion.
