How to Style an Entryway Console Table
How to Style an Entryway Console Table
One of my favorite places in our home is the entryway. Ever since moving into our home over two years ago, the console table has been a constant work in progress. Today I just purchased the big white bins that you see underneath the table in fact! After making that purchase I snapped a quick picture to share on the blog along with other tips on how to style an entryway console table.
Find the Right Console Table
First things first: you’ve gotta find the right console table! Once you narrow down your options, be certain to take measurements in the area where you want to put your table. Our console table was a find from HomeGoods and it fit perfectly where I wanted it to go.

The console table you choose should represent your personal style and compliment the rest of your home decor. In our home we have a lot of gray which is why I ultimately chose this rustic gray and brown console table. Of course, I would have loved to include a rattan console table because I love all things rattan, but this one ended up doing the job.
Choose Art or a Mirror as a Vocal Point
On top of my console table I chose an antique gold mirror as the vocal point. The gold antique mirror also adds some height to the table. You can also add some artwork on your console table to create a vocal point, too.

Layer Decorative Objects on Top of the Console Table
On my console table you can see a few different trays with marble and gold accent pieces on top. One of my first purchases to add to my console table is this beige sandstone rectangular tray from Target. On top of the sandstone decorative tray I placed a gold metal knot which also came from Target.
When considering what decorative objects to add to your console table, I would keep in mind your home aesthetic. Do you have a lot of bohemian pieces in your home? Include a few bohemian accents to match with the rest of you decor. For example, I have a large rattan wicker basket to hold pampas grass stems on my console table. These two items hone in on my bohemian decor style.

A recent decorative tray that I purchased at Target has a light natural woven base and handles. Not only can I use this tray for beauty product shots (as seen here), but I can also use it to hold candles and other pops of greenery on my console table.
Another decor trick: play around with textures! You can see on my console table above how I took the sandstone decorative tray and put a metallic gold knot on top to mix in a few different textures.
