Outerwear

Tan Coat

As soon as the temperatures begin to drop, I am quick to bring out my Amazon tan coat as a layering piece. My long camel coat has great versatility. When discussing fall wardrobe essentials I believe a solid tan or neutral coat is a must-have item. You don’t have to spend a lot on this item. I found my perfect long camel coat on Amazon for under $50.

Moto Jacket

To be honest, I would not have included a moto jacket as a fall wardrobe essential until I found my ideal version this year. During Amazon Prime Day, I purchased a tan faux leather moto jacket from The Drop to wear this fall season. Now I am excited to include a moto jacket as a fall essential because I do think it’s a great transitional piece to wear from summer into fall.

Cardigan

Who doesn’t enjoy feeling warm and cozy with a cardigan on? In the fall and winter I am usually wearing some sort of cozy knit cardigan item around the house. When I want to wear my cardigan for a styled look, I’ll typically swap out my usual tank top for a lace camisole.

Cardigans are fall wardrobe essentials because they are easy to style for casual or dressed up looks. Cardigans during the day time look best with jeans and a simple solid colored top. To dress up a cardigan, I would wear a lace camisole tank top or a satin top.

Shirt Jacket or Shacket

One of the more trendy pieces to include in my list of fall wardrobe essentials is a shirt jacket or “shacket”. For now, I am choosing to include a shirt jacket as a fall wardrobe essential because it continues to be a popular item to use as a layering piece. Some of my favorite shirt jackets are from Amazon and Walmart.

I also recently picked up a brown plaid shirt jacket from Abercrombie. You can see how I styled this recent Abercrombie find in the image below.

Tops

Long-Sleeve Top

The perfect layering piece to have this fall is a long-sleeve top. Walmart has some of my favorite inexpensive long-sleeve tops including the white top I have on in the picture below.

Ribbed Sweater

A great item to wear from fall into winter is a ribbed sweater. I like this one from Amazon because it’s not too thick. Ribbed sweaters are classic wardrobe staples and never go out of style.

Dresses

A pretty dress goes a long way in the fall. If you have a special occasion to plan for then it’s essential to find the right dress. I have found quite a few pretty dresses from Abercrombie and Walmart to share with you! Check out the orange babydoll dress I found at Abercrombie: it fits TTS and I’m wearing a size medium. The mini dress comes in a few other colors, but I seriously love the dark orange shade!

Pants and Bottoms

Straight-Leg Denim Jeans

After a quick visit to Abercrombie, I picked up a pair of their Curve Love Ultra High Rise Straight Leg Jeans in the size 12R. Next to my Old Navy jeans, these are a total win! I would suggest sizing up in these jeans. For me, I had to go up one size to the 12R and then they fit perfect.

Faux Leather Pants

With faux leather as one of the hottest trends for fall 2022, I have to include it as a fall essential this year. Now this could very well change for the next fall season, but this year I think it’s wise to find a pair of faux leather pants or even a faux leather skirt to wear. Faux leather pants are basically going to become a staple like jeans this fall season.

Faux Leather Mini Skirt

If you are a fan of skirts, I would consider adding one to your fall wardrobe this season. A skirt that I recently bought from Abercrombie is a light tan faux leather mini skort. I’ve been sharing how to style this skort a few ways on Instagram, too. You can easily style a faux leather skirt with knee-high boots or ankle booties.
