I am excited to bring you a spring capsule wardrobe for 2023. Ever since I posted a fall capsule wardrobe from 2022, I have been eager to create more! With the success of my previous capsule wardrobe posts, I bring you a timeless capsule wardrobe for spring 2023.

The color palette I chose for this specific spring capsule wardrobe mixes together brown, beige, cream, and white. Obviously, you can sub in your own colors to curate a capsule wardrobe that fits your aesthetic! In addition to styled looks, I am also including a breakdown of items for each category in one concise checklist. I would print out this checklist to stay on track as you build your spring capsule wardrobe.

Spring Capsule Wardrobe Guide: How to Style Tops

White T-Shirt

Here I am showing three different ways to style a basic white t-shirt. Once you find your ideal white t-shirt (look at Target or Walmart), you can start to mix and match your looks. The first look features the coatigan with tailored pants for a workwear outfit. The middle look includes the trench coat and denim jeans for a French-inspired outfit idea. The last look is ideal for a vacation as you can pair a basic white t-shirt with denim shorts.

Blouse

Depending on your spring color palette, you should find a blouse that complements the direction of your capsule wardrobe. For example, this spring capsule has a lot of beige/brown tones to it. You can have fun choosing a blouse to add into your spring wardrobe. I wanted a nice blouse to fit in with the rest of the items here which is why I chose a ruffle-sleeved top from Old Navy.

Striped Linen Shirt

Another top that I included in the spring capsule wardrobe for 2023 is a striped linen shirt. To coordinate with other similar colors in this capsule, I chose a light brown striped linen shirt from Old Navy. One of the easiest tops to style for spring is a linen shirt or linen button down. You can wear it dressed up with tailored pants for work or wear it casually with linen shorts.

Open Front Cardigan

A transitional piece to have in your spring capsule wardrobe is a cardigan. Personally, I think a slightly over-sized boyfriend cardigan looks chic and on-trend.

Blazer

One item that can instantly make an outfit feel complete is a blazer. Tailored pants and tailored blazers are hot items for spring 2023. I’ve noticed a lot of my favorite retailers, like Abercrombie and Fitch, released different colored blazers over the past few months. For a spring capsule wardrobe I’d say it’s best to pick a neutral colored blazer. Above I styled a cream colored blazer three different ways: one way for work, another for a casual weekend, and finally a third way with a midi skirt for a dressed up look.

Coatigan

What is a coatigan you may be wondering? It’s a blend of a coat and a cardigan, a coatigan! J.Crew has the best selection of these stylish transitional pieces. Coatigans are also called sweater blazers according to J.Crew. I also found the right neutral coatigan from MANGO. Get the look for less on Amazon with this best-selling open front cardigan coat.

White Denim Shorts

One pair of bottoms you’ll need for spring: white denim shorts. White denim shorts are easy to style multiple ways and look fresh for spring 2023. My favorite white denim shorts are from LOFT. You can see how I styled my LOFT frayed white denim shorts in this post.

Linen shorts

Soft and breathable fabrics, such as linen, are ideal for warm weather. Luckily I found the right pair of stretchy and comfortable pull-on linen shorts at Abercrombie.

Denim shorts

Don’t forget to include a classic pair of denim shorts in your spring capsule wardrobe. Mine typically come from Abercrombie & Fitch or Old Navy. I find these two brands carry the best denim shorts for my midsize body type. The style of denim shorts is up you. Personally, I wear high-waisted mom shorts that hug my curved and have a longer hemline.

Linen pants

Not only are linen shorts a vital component to a solid spring capsule, but so are linen pants. You can easily find a great pair of linen pants at an affordable price at Target or Old Navy.

Tailored pants

I would say tailored pants are some of the trendiest bottoms for spring 2023. For a spring capsule wardrobe, I suggest finding a neutral pair of straight-leg tailored pants to include. Midi skirt

In my own style, I enjoy feminine pieces like skirts. For this spring capsule wardrobe I decided it needed a midi skirt to cap off the “bottoms” category.
