8 Spring Must Haves for 2024
Quick Shop 8 Spring Must Haves
1. Striped Button Down
A spring staple will always be a striped button down shirt. I’d say a blue striped button down also fits into the preppy category which also happens to be a popular trend for 2024. Striped button downs look nice with jeans, linen shorts, denim shorts, or high-waisted trousers. You can wear it to the office and also transition it into casual wear with denim shorts.
2. Linen Shorts
Each spring season I like to buy myself a new pair of comfortable linen shorts. Linen fabrics are especially necessary for Florida as we experience warm weather starting this month! I like to find linen shorts that have a nice length to them to look age appropriate.
Linen shorts are common to find at most of your favorite retailers. I do recommend looking into Quince for sustainably made 100% European linen shorts that run just under $30. If you want a cheaper pair I would look to Target as they have more affordable linen shorts.
3. Neutral Shirt Dress
Most retailers will sell their own variations of a shirt dress during the spring season. Shirt dresses are effortless for the office or a lunch meeting. I think a shirt dress with a tie-belt details looks the most flattering. Choose a neutral color in a shirt dress to get the most wear out of it.
4. Sandals
If you find yourself traveling to a warmer climate you will most likely need to pick up a pair of sandals. Target and Walmart honestly have some of the best affordable and comfortable sandals around. I usually get myself a few new pairs of neutral sandals, like these from Target, to go with my flowy spring dresses.
The sandals I am featuring in this post are new to Target and look similar to Sam Edelman sandals that retail for $130! Mine are a 9 1/2 so I do recommend sizing down a half size. These cute sandals have memory foam and are incredibly comfortable to walk in.
5. Straight-Leg Denim Jeans
In my own personal style I’ve shifted away from tight skinny jeans and now purchase classic straight-leg styles. Straight-leg denim jeans are pretty classic these days. The straight-leg style doesn’t feel as constricted as skinny jeans do. Some of my top places to look for stylish straight-leg jeans are Old Navy and Abercrombie.
You should include a pair of denim jeans in your spring wardrobe as they are easy to wear with blouses, tank tops, and bodysuits. It depends on your personal preference whether you want to choose a light, medium, or dark wash jean.
6. Shoulder Bag
Shoulder bags are having a moment right now. Consider swapping out your usual cross body bag for a round shoulder bag instead. I have a lot of different options for you in the collage below.
7. Sweater Cardigan
A midweight sweater cardigan feels ideal for late winter into early spring weather. You can keep a sweater cardigan with you for a night out just in case it gets chilly, too.
I really love the sweater cardigan I found recently from Walmart to feature in this list. The sweater cardigan from Free Assembly at Walmart looks similar to J.Crew with it’s scalloped details and gold buttons. Wear the cardigan on it’s own as a top or layer it over a simple tank top. With the outfit below I chose to wear the cardigan by itself with wide-leg trousers for a chic office look.
8. Sneakers
Over the past few years, we’ve seen sneakers become an every day staple. Sneakers are no longer reserved solely for gym sessions. As you look for the perfect pair of sneakers to add to your spring wardrobe, I’d like to suggest a few top picks.
My top sneaker brands to buy from are:
- Hoka
- ON Cloud
- New Balance
- Target
Recently I invested in a new neutral pair of Hoka sneakers. I wore them to Disney World and they were absolutely great! I’ve been eyeing these neutral Hoka sneakers for months now and I am glad I have my own pair.
