e.l.f. beauty reviews to read before you buy
I placed an order of new makeup product from e.l.f. to experiment with in my spring makeup routine. The other week I posted a natural makeup routine and I think I’ll be incorporating a few of these new products very soon. I feel like some of these new makeup products were introduced to me as favorites from beauty YouTubers that I follow. You can say I was heavily influenced by the YouTube community to order the e.l.f. camo liquid blush and lip oil.
Full Face of e.l.f. Cosmetics
The best part about e.l.f. cosmetics is the fact that nothing cost me more than $20 a piece. In fact, most of these beauty products were priced at just $8.00. It’s crazy to think about how much money I’ve spent on similar makeup products before. You can definitely see comparisons to these new e.l.f. makeup products and high-end ones.
In case you didn’t know, I also want to mention a huge sale happening later this week with e.l.f. cosmetics and other retailers in the Shop LTK app. Once the sale goes live you will have the opportunity to save 40% off your purchase of $35 or more. For now, please enjoy my e.l.f. beauty reviews to read before you make any purchases of their new makeup launches.

e.l.f. cosmetics Camo Hydrating CC Cream
I can confidently compare this $15 CC Cream to my more expensive IT Cosmetics CC Cream. Save yourself a lot of money by getting the e.l.f. version at the drugstore or online! There’s also a lot of different shades to choose from with this hydrating, full coverage foundation. I wear shade 120 N which is meant for those with fair to neutral undertones.
e.l.f. cosmetics Camo Liquid Blush
The Camo Liquid Blush from e.l.f. compares to the Rare Beauty liquid blush according to many TikTok and YouTube beauty influencers. Once I heard this comparison I knew I wanted to try it for myself. The $8.00 price point also didn’t hurt the wallet! The shade I ended up ordering from e.l.f. is called Dusty Rose which is a warm peach.
At first I applied three dots of blush to the tops of my cheekbones. Boy was this a huge mistake! You literally only need ONE DOT of product to achieve a wash of color. I had to add more foundation to cover up my mistakes with the three dots of product the other day.
After I fixed my blush I noticed a light dewy wash of pink on my cheekbones that looked incredible. You can see how the e.l.f. blush ended up looking on my fair skin in the images below where I’m holding up lip products.
e.l.f. cosmetics Pout Clout Lip Plumping Pen
One of the newest lip products to hit the beauty space is the e.l.f. Pout Clout Lip Plumping Pen. I couldn’t find any of these lip pens at local stores which is why I ultimately placed an online order. The shade I ordered is called Toasted which can be described as a warm nude beige.
The Pout Clout Lip Plumping Pens are compared to Tarte Maracuja Plumping Lip Balms which retail for $24. I have owned a loved a few of the Tarte Maracuja Juicy Lip Balms in various shades so I had high expectations for the e.l.f. version. When you look at both lip products you can see how they have similar designs with a click pen style to release more lip balm out of the tube.
On my first use of this lip plumping pen I felt like I was using one of my Tarte lip balms! The cushioned feel felt so similar to Tarte’s lip formula. I’d say they are truly identical when it comes to hydration, cushioned comfort, pigment payoff, and shine formula. See below for a closer look at Toasted from e.l.f. and how it looks in real life. Save yourself some money by opting for the Plumping Pens ($8) from e.l.f. over the Tarte pens ($24).
e.l.f. cosmetics Glow Reviver Tinted Lip Oil
In my online order at e.l.f. I also included one of their viral lip oils in the shade Rose Envy that has a pretty rosy pink tone. When I first applied it on my lips, I noticed that it took a few additional swipes of color to get a true pay off. I’d say this compares to other drugstore lip oils on the market like NYX Fat Oil Lip Drip Gloss. This e.l.f. lip oil also has the same type of thick applicator as the NYX lip oil.
If you are looking for a light sheer color on the lips you can easily apply one coat of this lip oil and call it a day. For me, I do like a little more color payoff from a product which is why I ended up layering it up with three extra coats. I am definitely eager to try out some more colors of this affordable and hydrating lip oil! You can also opt for a clear gloss to layer over lip liner or other lipstick favorites.

e.l.f. Hydrating Camo Concealer (Fair Rose)
I am excited to have this hydrating concealer in my makeup collection. So far, so good! I got the lightest shade for my fair completion which is Fair Rose. You can see how I apply a few swipes of concealer underneath my eyes in my YouTube tutorial featuring all e.l.f. makeup.
e.l.f. cosmetics Lash ‘N Roll Mascara
WOW! I really like this Lash ‘N Roll Mascara from e.l.f. so much. It definitely feels high-end when in reality its only $6! My usually go-to mascara is the tubing mascara from MERIT beauty. I am very picky with mascara because I want something that lengthens my lashes and doesn’t end up under my eyes throughout the day.
e.l.f. Lash N’ Roll has a double-sided curved silicone brush head for maximum lift on the lashes. It has a smudge-free and flake-resistant formula that I can definitely attest to! For only $6 I think the e.l.f. Lash ‘N Roll definitely compares to high-end mascaras.
e.l.f. Bite-Size Eyeshadow (Cream & Sugar)
While I was out picking up a few more e.l.f. makeup products to test out I also grabbed a bite-size eye shadow in the Cream & Sugar option. For only $3 you can get this pretty travel-friendly eye shadow palette. All of the shades in this eye shadow palette are pigmented and blend out nicely.
For my everyday eye look with this e.l.f. palette I take the lightest vanilla shade all over the lid, add a little bit of sparkle with the gold shimmer shade, and finish off the eye look with the darkest brown matte shade in the outer corner.
