Top 20 Purchases of 2020
Reflecting on the past year by rounding up my top 20 purchases of 2020. Home decor finds, clothing favorites, beauty products I loved, plus so much more! Check out what I loved during this last year.
1. Tribal Design Rug – Target
While renovating the third bedroom into my home office, I felt like I needed a large fluffy rug to fit over the wood floors. I ended up buying this tribal rug from Target to add to my space. It was such a great piece to add to my boho home office decor! Simba, my cat, also loves how soft the rug feels and often I find him asleep on it during the day.
2. Billie Razor
You can say I fell victim to the influencer community with my Billie Razor investment. Now I never have to go out and purchase a new razor or new razor blades because of this razor subscription service I chose to sign up for in 2020. The Billie Razor starts at $9 and you can sign up to receive a shipment of new razor blades every 3-6 months.
3. OLAPLEX Hair Care System
Back in July, I received the entire Olaplex Bond Maintenance System from a PR gift through my partnership with QVC and HSN. I had never tried this line of products up until this year.
I ended up loving the entire hair care system and to this day I incorporate it into my nightly routine. The shampoo leaves my hair feeling incredibly clean. You can check out my complete review of the hair products on my blog here.
4. Hollister Ultra High-Rise Mom Jeans
Here I am styling the Hollister Ultra High-Rise Mom Jeans with a satin cami and my barefoot dreams cardigan! This is the year when I gave Hollister another try.
From their line of stretchy denim jeans to their new collection of soft lounge sets, Hollister has earned a second chance in my mind. I couldn’t stop wearing these ripped light wash denim Mom jeans all year long in 2020.
5. Adidas NMD R1 Chalk and Nude Shoes
Sneakers from Adidas are by far some of my favorites to have in my shoe stash! I was on the hunt for a neutral pair for months until I stumbled upon this pair online. Of course, having large feet sometimes pays off, and I only paid until $60 for these sneakers on Tillys.
6. Quip Metal Electric Toothbrush
The best new toothbrush on the market!! I bought mine from Target. The soft bristles vibrate for 30 seconds at a time so you know how long to stay on one section of your mouth.
7. Old Navy Relaxed Soft-Brushed Funnel-Neck Coat
Old Navy winter coats completely changed the game this past Fall/Winter season. I consider this brown funnel-neck coat one of my favorite clothing purchases of 2020. For it’s under $100 price, it’s surely a staple to have for years to come.
8. Ring Doorbell 3
If you have a house or even an apartment where you can set up one of these wireless Bluetooth Ring cameras, I suggest getting one this year because I can not imagine life without it! Brian and I are obsessed with our Ring doorbell and it’s so easy to control with your phone. I feel so much safer knowing our front door has an extra layer of protection.
9. Target Face Masks
Once the country chose to implement a mandatory face mask ordinance I took it upon myself to find the best ones to wear out in public. Thankfully, Target released a bunch of colorful printed face masks and I picked out some really good ones that were durable and soft to wear all day long.
10. Pampas Grass Stems
In terms of adding new home decor elements in 2020, I have to talk about the rise in popularity of pampas grass. Even back in February, I was looking all over town for some pampas grass stems to stick inside my glass jars on my console table. Etsy sells some of the best white, brown, and beige-colored pampas grass stems at an affordable price.
11. Time and Tru Quarter Zip Sherpa Pullover
My winter uniform has included this fluffy pink sherpa pullover for the last couple of weeks. I ordered my usual size medium in it and I seriously live in it!
While out running errands or relaxing at home, you’ll find me cozy in this sherpa pullover day after day. I discovered this sherpa while shopping for a recent Walmart Try-On Haul on my YouTube channel.
12. IT Cosmetics CC+ Cream Oil-Free Matte with SPF 40
One of the best liquid foundations I wore during 2020 is the IT Cosmetics CC+ Cream Oil-Free Matte with SPF 40. In my summer makeup post, I talked about my love for this CC+ cream as a great full-coverage foundation option. I wear one of the lightest shades but even after it’s been on my skin for hours it doesn’t budge or oxidize.
13. Society 6 Art Print
14. Megababe Rosy Pits Daily Deodorant
Ever since I completely changed up my deodorant routine to include natural aluminum-free products, I continuously try out new ones to experiment with more scents and brands.
Native deodorant still tops my list as one of my personal favorites, but I also mixed it up this year by buying Megababe in a rose-scent. It’s a great alternative to other name brand deodorants with chemicals. I also appreciate that this product has no baking soda which can cause me to break out.
15. Target Lainee Heeled Scrunch Boots
16. Shark® Apex® UpLight™ DuoClean Self-Cleaning Vacuum
Living with two furry animals creates plenty of hair on the wood floors and carpets. The best investment I made in 2020 has to be picking up a Shark vacuum. This vacuum goes to work all over the house picking up excess hair, dirt, and dust.
17. IRIS USA 596241 Metal Garment Rack with Wood Shelves
While renovating the third bedroom in the house, I bought this Amazon garment rack to store my clothes and use as a background for my Instagram/Try-On Hauls. It was easy to build and it looks chic in my home office.
18. Method Beach Sage Laundry Detergent
19. Physicians Formula Nourishing Lipstick, “Spice”
I had a really exciting collaboration this year with Physicians Formula. The brand also generously sent over a lot of their products for me to test out and play with!
One of the stand out lipsticks I used again and again was the Physicians Formula Nourishing Lipstick in the shade Spice. Spice looks reddish brown and you can see how it looks on me in the photo above! For an inexpensive drugstore lipstick, it feels so soothing on the lips and hydrating at the same time.
20. Sofia Jeans by Sofia Vergara Women’s Square Neck Bodysuit
What a great bodysuit find from Walmart! I shopped online at Walmart to prepare for a huge Walmart Try-On Haul and bought this nude bodysuit from the Sofia Vergara collection.
The nude bodysuit stretches easily and looks great as a basic! While walking through Hyde Park Village last month with my bestie Nicole, she snapped this quick pic of me wearing the bodysuit in person.
