7 Fall 2023 Fashion Trends to Shop Now

Fall fashion trends come and go each year. In this post, I want to highlight 7 fall 2023 fashion trends that you’ll be seeing at your favorite retailers. I’ve created detailed collages with items to help you achieve each of these 7 fall 203 fashion trends, too. 1. Denim

Denim will be a major fall trend for 2023. According to Stylecaster, popular ways to wear denim include carpenter pants, mini skirts, and jumpsuits. Personally, I love a good denim shirt dress. I’ve picked up two amazing denim dresses at Walmart over the past few weeks that are affordable as well! Of course, if you don’t want to wear TOO much denim at once, you can also easily stay on trend with your favorite denim jeans.

2. Plaid

Channeling the punk rock days of the early 90s with a resurgence of plaid patterns this fall. A plaid mini skirt like the one I am wearing from Target is one way to style plaid for fall.

3.  Trousers

It took me some time to adopt this trend, but now I am never going to be without a good pair of trouser pants. High waisted trousers make you look taller, sleeker, and more sophisticated no matter what type of top you wear with them. Choose a neutral color for trouser pants so they can work nicely with tops you already own. Currently I have brown, white, and beige trousers in my wardrobe to style various ways for the fall season.

4. Peplum

At first, the idea of wearing peplum again might scare you. This popular 2010s fashion trend brings on memories of chunky statement necklaces and chevron prints. These days peplum has more of an understated feel with slight upgrades to the peplum silhouette. Recently I found a gorgeous plum and floral pepulm blouse on the Walmart website.

5. Power Dressing

The Quiet Luxury trend was felt during the summer season with fashion inspo from Sofia Richie Grainge and this fall we are seeing similar styles in the art of  “Power Dressing” with strong over sized blazers and tailored clothing.

6. Plazacore

A recent trend that started on TikTok is called Plazacore. To be honest, I had to Google this trend to learn more about it! I figured it had something to do with the infamous Plaza Hotel in New York City. Plazacore aesthetic includes girly houndstooth, tweed, color coordinating outfits, cardigans, Mary Janes, and pearl details. Think: Blair Waldorf meets Fallon Carrington.

7. Pleating

A lot of the popular fashion magazines have noticed an uptick in pleated details on blouses, dresses, and pants alike. Pleating simply means folding over fabric to create small creases.
